Cardiff Devils v Coventry Blaze - Wed 7:30pm - Chat/Updates

#2
Looking forward to this one. I think it was worked out on another thread that a draw will be sufficient for Devils to progress making Saturday's Hull match a bit of a nothing game - maybe a chance to give Crisp a full game in goals and give Hayes, Davies, Symonds etc more ice time. Getting a bit ahead of myself - need a result in this one first, and Blaze are effectively the best in the league at the moment (2 points off top, but 3 games in hand). I'm hopeful of a Devils win. Hopefully the recent good form will encourage a decent crowd despite it being a non-season ticket game and it being mid-week.

Apparently Calder need one more goal to become the first player in the Elite era to reach 200 goals - hopefully it won't be tonight!

Devils v Blaze fixtures are personally my favourite games, so can't wait for face-off tonight! Come on Devils! :D

I'm pretty sure a draw (1 point) will see us qualify. I agree that if we can pull that off, we have an opportunity to rest players during shifts up in Hull and give some of the youngsters and game. Hopefully we'll be fresher for Coventry on Sunday then as we have to consider the amount of travelling this weekend.

With Coventry needing the win tonight, this has the potential to be a great game.

I played Colour Sunday on my music podcast for unsigned bands (Check the Sig -Cheap plug  )

They are indeed an excellent band and it should prove to be excellent entertainment for this evening.

As for someone saying there could be a sell out tongiht, i'ed be very suprised. At the moment the ticketing system isnt showing season ticket seats for sale and i cant see every single season ticket holder turning up to watch tongiht.

Hope i am wrong though

I would have thought a lot would be there tonight considering what game it is and i have never seen block 8 that full this early on other than the sell out games, if its not a sell out i'd say it will be a very high attendance, blocks 3, 12 and 13 are sold out except for a few spare seats.

It won't be a sellout - but it does seem like it should be a pretty good crowd for midweek.

One thing I'm suprised at - I assumed the band would be playing in block 1. Yet Block 1 tickets are on sale?????

The last band played by the other away block?

I'm sure a draw won't get us through - does depend what the decider is as we will be joint of points with Cov. People on THF think its GD, if this is the case we need to assess the GD after the game.

We're at +4 and Coventry -2, so a difference of 6. Which is pretty good for us, even if we lose tonight (providing we don't lose by more than 3 clear goals) a win at Hull would still put us through. We're not in the semi-finals yet, but we are in a good position.

Side note: First post :D I've been a lurking here for ages, finally decided to join up. Yay :)
