Shame you can care so much about a new Arena that it seems as if you will never visit. Saying that...seems you have not actually visited the place we play out of now!

May l suggest Google searching the definition of "who cares" or "gives a toss".

As for your crusade to move this to the waste lands of the Inferno where nobody bothers, the Arena and my points have been discussed on the current arena thread still active in the main section of this place.

You may want to try to move that. ;)

If my views are so ridiculously out there, why so much negativity towards me. I know people are touchy about the historic mudlfucklucs that is the council and there intense need to not have an Ice Hockey venue or successful team in Cardiff, but hating me is not going to bring nirvana.
I'd be more than happy to have the whole project completed, l like skiing and having that in the bay would be great. Realistically the cost to build, running costs are high and current development of the bay and Cardiff Central mean there is too many shops and restaurants, add lack of infustructure means it's probably highly unsustainable. And the Arena too small.

I'm simply responding to points raised. I'm sure many reading this are enjoying it.

I'm using Tapatalk, I have no issue with clogging. A wee bit of a melodramatic comment.

What's your view of the developers who pulled out in 2009 after the Casino debacle claiming the development had no future. You still believe there decision was wrong and that no commercial investors wanted anything to do with the plans we see today, leaving the council to seek a specialist such as Greenbank.

Changing the subject but staying on original topic - does anybody know what facilities will be in the new arena in terms of food/drink etc?

Spending hours sitting in the BBT watching my son train could be so much better with a nice warm coffee area, sky sports and wi-fi etc!!!

I am sure if Costa/Starbucks/Coffee #1 or AN Other franchise-type outlet was on site it could attract non-ice sports business too on top of the many parents taking their kids skating/hockey etc??

Are there any plans (even if on previous pages) that show the floorplan etc?


(Please don't tell me the there will be an ice-cream stall called Chillee's!!)

Not ice cream. It'll be snow cones, the only indoor snow in Cardiff.
The limited info on facilities states there is a bar area, conference facility. The Web info though hasn't been updated for over a yr. The corporate brochure offers sponsorship opportunities, we should soon be hearing on the naming/sponsorship of the rink etc.

POST MOVED FROM MAIN FORUM - DON'T JUMP ON CHILLEE FOR IT!

We really only have pictures to go on.

There is lots of mention on the corporate site about the whole project, but that dates back to when phase 1 & 2 was to immediately follow with a completion date for the whole International Sports Village that had 5 phases, the last being the shopping. But that date was June 2015 for all phases. The Arena and ski slope would be finished already and in use today had the original plans not been changed.

That was wrong....and I apologise. Blame Mr Daniels! :oops:

I do still think that the thread deserved to be moved. There was a prefectly good thread about the Arena already.

Again...to Chillee...apologies. Not my best forum moment.
