"Brody let loose".
A perfectly timed hard, fair hit as he came out of box was called boarding by Dean Smith.
I do so hope that this is not the start of the men in the middle targeting #85 just because he is who he is.
Happend with Voth. Can only see Bordy racking up the pm's just by hitting hard if that happens. I do so hope I'm wrong.
Lots of penalties called tonight on players not expected to serve time in box. Can't do that and expect to win.

Im genuinely suprised he wasnt called a game misconduct for the slash. 2 game ban on route for that and probably 1 for crosschecking to the head. Idiotic play. Just drop the gloves and take the instigation minor!!

2nd game Smith has reffed Devils at home recently and 2nd game he has called a lot of soft penalties on both teams but especially on us.
We haven't seen him much for a while before that and i'm wondering if someone has had a word with him as he used to be my favourite ref for letting the hard hits go and the game flow.
Not surprised a couple of our guys got frustrated towards the end of the game.

He's definitely changed the way he refs from what I've seen this season. He's been a pain in the butt calling soft penalties and making the games stop-start affairs, whereas he used to let the minor stuff go for the betterment of the game. Put your whistle away Smith, we haven't come to watch you be the star of the show!

Bordy getting called by the ref for 2 perfectly good hits was a bit ridiculous, I was in block 2 tonight and they were both directly in front of me. Neither were a pently imo and I'd happily say the same if it was a stars player checking one of ours.

Fournier was silly at the end, espically at 4-1 up. That was a nasty slash to the back of the leg and he meant it too. Didn't really see anything to make him see the red mist to do it. Fully expecting a ban for him.

Enjoyed the game, first 2 periods were fun, 3rd was a bit rubbish but we took the foot of the gas which isn't surprising. We looked good on the PK tonight which was good to see.

I love the hard hitting style we played tonight in the first two periods and in the third against Coventry last weekend. Long may it continue.

What's Bentivoglio done? (#58*)

Good start to the year, liked seeing Bordy play with a bit more freedom, disappointed with Dean Smith this season so far, made the Manchester game stop start with some soft penalties too.

1st and 2nd period were ok and we got the job done, 3rd was scrappy and a bit of a mess but the stars weren't up to much so we didn't have to play at full speed.

After making the nicest play of the game in the comeback Coventry win, a game where the lines were constantly changing, Culli was really dropped down and around today. He negated one Stars power play by drawing a penalty and a majority of his ice time seemed to be on the penalty kill but I don't think he got to play with the same two linemates more than twice in the game?

For two periods I thought we were excellent. Totally dominated the Stars who barely got close to scoring. The only disappointments were some silly penalties and the fact we weren't further ahead.

Third period we took our foots off the gas but still cruised to victory.

Weird thing i did see tonight was a young fan being escorted by security and he turned and through a fist at one of them. Lad must have been about 10. Crazy

Same young fan seemed to be trying to climb into the Dundee tunnel/bench via the front row. He was being physically retrainsted by a lady and then run off. What started it all I have no idea.

Clinical performance tonight for 2 periods. Bordy (with plenty of minutes) was excellent in the first half of the game. Devils took their foot of the gas in the 3rd and coasted to the win which made the 3rd period a bit flat. Good all round performance, good PK but a few silly penalties - partly due to the stripey having a new whistle for Christmas. Good start to 2017

There was something going on during the game. Not sure if it was a private booking or public skating.

And I'd be more than happy to have 4pm starts on a Sunday. Think it would be a good idea.

Watching the webcast, I said straight away "that's a ban". 1 game is likely, but knowing DOPS this year if there is a ban, it'll be totally disproportionate.
Won't be automatically reviewed so unless Dundee call for it then he should be ok?

Meanwhile back at the game:

Yay. Devils win, unusual for A Hotham to lose his cool . Bad thought process for Fournier too taking the gloss off a good win. Wondering if DOPs will take the Fournier penalty further. On the positive side 6 out of 8 points during this holiday period and the Devils developing a 'nasty edge' now Bordy seems to have been let loose to cause havoc.
Sorry but it is not unusual behaviour by A Hotham. He constantly argues with officials and needs to shut his mouth.Lord needs to get a grip.Fournier also wants to learn he is part of a team.We are coasting to a comfortable win when 2 of our best D men get thrown out on majors.A better team than the Stars could have taken that game off us.After getting a public warning and fine from the EIHL we get last nights tantrums.53 mins pens,Fournier with 31,Hotham 12 if the club get suspensions it could be serious for us especially when we are supposedly trying to win trophies. This weeks DOPS should be interesting didnt Stewart of the Blaze get an abuse of official call also.
We will see whether they are serious or not.
