Yet another player leaves 'the best organisation on the country'. Oh well another big blow to them.Never mind.
Oh yeah - second player this season.

It's either a damning comment on the organisation or the fact that the players are quality enough to be bought by higher leagues.

The Austrian league is very good and any player in our league would love to play in that league. To put into context how good the stand is there, Craig Weller is a number 5 defenseman for his team and they are one of the bottom teams in the league:shock:

1st player left cause his girlfriend was unable to get a visa so he went back to the same standard of hockey... 2nd player left cause he good a better offer to play in a better league, no reason to hold him back....

It's like here in the local football league a Kid playing for Cliftonville is ripping up the league, so he's now gone to Swansea.. Means 2nd place Cliftonville chances of winning the league have took a massive blow but they would not hold him back. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballna ... -29951928/

It's like Szwez in the DEL he's only a 4th line grinder.. Over here he was a top line power forward.. In the DEL he put up 8 points in 41 games last year, for the Giants he scored 36 times in 41 games and put up 58 points..

I dont think Weller was signed as a 5th defenceman. He was signed as a bit of a star for that team but it doesnt seem to have worked out for him. He is one of only a few players in that league who has that much NHL experience. But I think that might be his downfall. He was suited to this league (albeit far to good) as we play a crash and bang North American style game, in Europe it is alot less physical so he may be struggling to make his mark.

He was on the 3rd D-pairing in his first game as well which indicates that is what he was signed as. Also the Austrian league is full of ex NHLers and top AHLers and the imports in general are just as good as the DEL. For example here is a list of Salzburg's imports:

Rob Davison (ex Devil) - http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=8750
Robbie Earl - http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9414
Jeremy Williams - http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11175
Doug Lynch - http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=11735
Erik Reitz - http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9449
Ramzi Abid - http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=9685
Danny Bois - http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=10874
Steven Regier - http://eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=10876

You won't find a better set of imports than that in pretty much any DEL team

Bayrack left last year but ended up back in this league half a season later.Three in a year?Worth wondering why I think.

Bayreck was released and was not unexpected as never fitted in with his line mates and he went to Austria... We brought in ex Caps player Simon Lambert to replace him from Sweden...

Yeh right!
Bayrack was arguably the Giants' best player in those early month and most Belfast fans were gutted when he left.
Never heard any suggestion he was released because he wasn't performing well enough, everyone said he left for better money.

With an opportunity to play in a top league, can't blame McBride for taking that. Believe Brad Smyth was only brought in temporarily by the Giants last year before he moved back into Europe.

It's obvious what a quality player Bayrack is - look at his performances for the Clan this season. Maybe it has more to do with being happy and settled at a club....which was also rumoured not to be the case when he was at the Giants. ;)

Christiansen brought in an extra import in case of injuries this year. Looks like they are needed to cover departures too.
