Signings/departures 2010/2011 - All Other Teams

I think he's a decent signing... He was brought in to replace Brock Wilson as a stay at home D.man and he looks a similar mould player only a lot tougher which is a plus in the EIHL this season... At 6'4'' 220lbs he's a big kid who's not afraid to fight for the team, but he can play as well... Most teams are carrying this kind of player this season, Cardiff with Sawyer, Vipers with Langdon, Blaze with Smith, and now the Panthers with Lepine. He's defo not an out an out fighter by any means, and with Penner holding that role for the Panthers I see Lepine fighting less this season compared to what he was doing in the ECHL, and being an asset to the Panthers on the D.....

I'm very jealous about Hoffman! He was on my wish list.

I just hope age catches up with the Giants players otherwise I'm taking my bat and ball home!

Giants complete their roster with

and

http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=14083

Very happy with both players going with 5 import D happy days :D
Gulp! Now the Giants definitely have their hands on that trophy cabinet! No wonder their fans are happy with these signings! Giants look so strong on paper - will anyone be able to consistently catch them? They must have a terrific budget over there to afford the level of experience they are signing. :?

Two quality signings... A point a game forward in the ECHL, and the best enforcer in the league... :) Hoffman is going to do some serious damage to a few fighters next season for sure..

The Panthers look good on paper as do us Devils, but the Chavs seem to win things even when fan's don't they have the best team ( but have good coaching), you can spend well over the wage cap (and it looks like Belfast have again)? but if a team don't gel like you would like them to do and fail then you can put it down to bad luck, i feel our Devils team at the mo is good enough to challenge the best teams, and i can't wait for it to start

What wage cap is that then ;)

Seriously though plenty of people are alluding to the fact the Giants must have spent a fortune, i'm not naive enough to say we are not ONE of the big spenders in the EIHL, but the fact that the Giants have Aer Lingus on board (which i would imagine freed up a large chunk of our budget) also the attraction of the Bruins, not so much the game, but the fact that a top NHL team are coming to the Belfast Giants, will enhance the clubs rep amongst players. I also think DC and TK are shrewd recruiters, we have not unlike some teams completed our roster within 2-3 months of the off season, we also have 3 players returning from injury which is a gamble on DC's part.

its not all about tough men! we've got some tough players too that can run rings around some of the other fighhters in this league and score goals!! We are the dark horse of the league coz everyone expects the normal top 4 but we can get amongst them this season i think!!

Braehead Clan complete their roster with forward Ryan Campbell.......

A great signing. (plenty of goal scoring power up front with him and Brendan Cook). Campbell was another player on wishlists! Note to G - get him and Steve Makway on the list for 2011/2012 signings! :D
