I was always jealous of other teams having players like Brendan Connolly. I thought it was a type of player we were lacking. Our fans used to hate him, and our players got frustrated with him and took penalties because of him. To me that showed that Connolly was doing his job very effectively. That was exactly what he was trying to do.
To me it's also a sign of a great team player. In Crawford, we have a smaller guy that is not gonna fight the big boys, but he's willing to risk getting beat up by them in order to draw penalties, and shift the momentum of the game. And to add that he's a point a game defenceman too and a crucial man on the power play, then I think he's one of the most important players we have.
