Why everyone is saying it's Bordys fault is beyond we, He is playing very well, when you consider in the show all he did was ice a few minutes , now he's on the ice all the time and improving every week and I personally love him, he is probably doing as he is told.
I left just before the end because they were crap, but also my daughter had got out of her sick bed to come and was feeling rotten. Shocking game, I felt ashamed to be a fan last night and no, I didn't boo.

What was very noticable in that first period was that Corey played his entire skating roster, rotating each line on very short shifts to keep up the intensity and freshness. It worked. He has enough confidence to play any line in any situation.
I noticed that it took nearly 10 minutes for Haddad-Myers-Doucet to make another appearance. Farmer and his line had already skated about 4 or 5 short shifts.
Devils virtually used the same two forward lines during the time when 3 Panthers' goals were scored.
The first fresh idea we had was when another line was finaly introduced.....then Devils got their first genuine shot on Wiikman after 11 minutes.

Ok, a VERY bad night at the office.
All departments were found wanting to a slick, organised, faster team. The scoreline was horrific
but with the squealers dropping points our standing has not been damaged.
Probably one of the worst devils performances to a man I have witnessed in some time. The first period could be the worst ever.
(Can we confirm that Rob Howley wasn't in charge last night.)
I personally think that as fans we let ourselves down with the booing. We have a class ownership, class management, up until last night a class on ice product. Let's keep the support in that vein.
Again just my opinion.

You're right about the shifts.

When we conceded that first goal Lord's line had been on over a minute (too long) and couldn't get a change. The players on were tired and Nottingham were fresh.

The same thing happened a few times tonight, most notably with Lord's line (who conceded the most I think, at least initially they did).

I respect your opinion but with respect your talking out of your area if YOU and every other Devils fan have laid this defeat at Bordys door, please tell me why this is Bordys fault and his fault alone. There are 20+plus players in this squad and not one of them came anywhere near an acceptable standard tonight. Also for me Todd although he is the Gm he needs to stop Interferering in team matters and let Lord do his job including dishing out bollockings to the team
Todd Kelman is part of the ownership of the Cardiff Devils he has a major stake in this club.Lord and the players are employees they have been given the resources to achieve success. If you think any business owner/executive will stand back and watch his business failing you must be living in some socialist paradise.Look around you at any sports business the owners always have an input.
Why do you think Sheffield and Nottingham have won so many trophies they make the hard decisions when required.

It was a bad night all round. D were no existent. The number of times a forward got behind them was unbelievable. Too many turnovers, too many passes going astray, far too many icings. Goalies as bad as one another. Forwards .... where was the passion the ideas......... and im sorry but where was Bordy..... if there was ever a time to start making his presence felt then tonight was it. Martin our top forward gets creamed and we shout from the bench......... come on this is not how Devils play.

Credit to \nottingham they played a good road game but they are not that much better than us...........

As I said previously my problem with last nights performance is in two directions. The players simply failed to turn up, work hard enough and compete at the right level. They also disintegrated as a team unit and started playing as individuals so they were NEVER going to win that game. Everyone off them apart from perhaps Haddad should be embarrassed at turning up to work and giving that level of performance. Simply put it was unprofessional.

However I also have to call Lordo out. Are you going to be the most successful coach in the league this year or the nicest. You are perfectly entitled to dip a toe into the dark arts of the game. Activate Bordy. Absorb the instigator. Wiikman is strangling you. Get to him. Farmer was having the time of his life. Someone take him to the bin. You have to dip into every tool at your disposal to stop that rot. How many scrums infront of Wiikman. How many shots of the play. How many of the Panthers stars were targeted. It was a real rollover and have your tummy tickled. I advocated the Devils discipline to this stage. The Devils are a great team. They've shown great heart in recovering games and I get that you would take great confidence in your tactics as they've worked. They will work again so don't doubt it. But there is also the game management aspect and Devils choked in how to tactically recover that game. It should have been a war for Panthers to get those two points after the 4-0 mark.

Now they have a chance to instantly answer the call. Devils have been very slow out of the gates in games this year and last night it bit them bad. A slow start tonight and a ? Falls over the whole team. That first shift tonight needs to be as simple as a dump in and an absolute smash of a forecheck. I would start Myers line. Follow with Brine's. Back to Myers and then Brine again. The top two shouldn't see ice for the start. Tonight is all about character and the character is you shouldn't have turned up tonight Steelers as we're pissed of and we want someone to take it out on.

I don't live in any socialist paradise at all, I'm well aware of Todd's position with the Devils as well so I don't need you to point that out for me. As for the panthers making hard decisions take a look on the cage see what their fans think at it!!. Let's be honest nobody was expecting that result last night...

So lord clearly says he was disappointed no one went out there way to create a spark..

So that clearly means bordeleau isn't on a tight rain.
It seems he wanted bordeleau to go lay a big hit rough someone up start a fight and he clearly never.

We got to many nice players in our team it's time we start being aggressive and angry do damage to the opposition not have chats and laugh for god sake

Well if Bordy doesn't light Fitzy up like a cheap Chinese firework tonight then reading what has now been said by Todd and Lordo the fan is going to get covered in it.

It's all well and good saying Lord saying he wanted someone to create a spark or get some rough stuff going but with respect if and it is an if he's told the guys to reign it in to minimize pms then to suddenly expect a reaction may be difficult. It's no coincidence the likes of Batch, Louis,Bordy and to some extent Myers and Haddad aren't as physical as they normally have been so has Lord held the reigns tightly?? For sure we definitely need a Huge reaction tonight with heart passion and nastyness including fights at the right time if needs be. 2points need to be ours

Couldn't agree less.

Bordeleau was itching to get out, especially after the hit on Martin...but was held back repeatedly (either from the bench or by the inaction of players on the ice coming in for a change). A number of us in block 9 were watching it happening and discussing it.

Precisely, I believe leaving the bench would mean a minimum two game ban and given that he was a tad lucky to escape punishment earlier in the season, my guess would be DOPs would give him three games. Would that be worth it for a game that was already lost?

In the next shift Batch challenged the Panthers player and put in a few punches behind the play but the Nottingham player refused and short of cheapshotting him there was little more he could do.

Shocker of a performance but they happen to all teams. Go again tonight.

Sometimes I just don't get these interviews, Lord says the right things but we're not seeing them during th game.

"The guys didn't have any jump" "I was waiting for someone to give us a spark" surely as the coach on the bench you say "Bordy for this shift go and light up everyone you see" "batchy anyone who dares come near the blue line flatten them" "Louis same for you" "I don't care about scoring at the moment, I'm going out on a wrecking ball shift"

Disagree. Not to blame Bordy though. Devils just weren't shrewd enough. The next face off was right infront of Devils bench. Doucet was about two feet from bench. He should have simply stepped off at puck drop and Bordy stepped on. Batch leaving his position to then try to start something coughed up I think it was the sixth goal.

It could have been done a lot different if they really wanted to go after that guy.

The one thing I hate about watching our livestream is our commentators, especially the one who does the interviews. <deleted> It makes this shitfest even harder to watch. So many of our regular hard working players are so quiet tonight... Louis, Myers, Brine and Piggot have tried to bring energy into this game but for nothing. God help us tomorrow if we play like this.
Serious question. Do you watch the webcasts from other teams? If so, which are better? JD has forgotten more about hockey in Cardiff than most people remember and collectively the commentators are balanced and for me, are the best in the league.

Move on people. We've lost one game in how many? We lost by 8 in one game last year and by 11 in both season's before that, so it's nothing new. It happens. What's going to happen if we lose 5 on the bounce? Will the world end?

Seriously, abusing John Donovan is way overstepping the mark. Don't know the guy, have never met him, but personally think he's excellent. Asks the right questions, makes interviewees feel comfortable and has an excellent hockey knowledge. Devils coverage would be worse without him.

Fine not to rate his work but to be abusive towards him?
