One thing that is for sure is that we are not performing and haven't won anything in years!
If we think about it it hadn't been great for us results way (No Silverware)

In any other professional sports organisation when a team is not performing then the club makes active changes and re-structure of the coaching team or playing squad!

I don't see why we are any different! If you ask me we have given to many chances and I feel now is the time for change! :RAWK
And with 52 posts, and a wealth of experiences in these matters we really need to listen to you, you are just what we need, the new Messiah, thank God for you, carry on brother we are all ears.

Maybe this person doesn't post regular because he/she got so many ridiculous responces they chose to only post when it was something that really strikes them.
I fail to see in the slightest how number of posts effects hockey knowledge or ability to have an opinion.

My opinion for what is worth is that if you say your going to challenge for trophies then mince around the rink and say your going to play physical and play like a right phil hill your going to get sh#t

booing not for me but each to their own, i know the results arent there but for me the biggest thing i've noticed this season so far is the total lack of interest from fans during the game, and bloody talking throughout the game, on saturday there were four people by the side of me who were either talking about god knows what all game or walking back and fore getting beers and then going to the toilet which really started to pee me off (no pun intended), if your not interested in the game and the teams playing crap and we are never gonna win at home why the hell do these people bother paying for a ticket and come to a game.

Careful what you wish for, although annoying these casual fans could become future season ticket holders!. Would they be talking rubbish and walking back n forth if the game was full of hits fights and or goals!?

Not wishing for anything Jimmy snels, my points were why pay £17plus to sit and talk when you could do that in your house/pub and secondly have some consideration for people who want to actually watch the game they have paid for no matter how crap it is!!

I comment when I feel there is need to voice my opinion. I happen to watch and keep up to date with a lot of hockey both here and overseas in the NHL.
I wonder if there is anyone who agrees with my previous statement, however it is very nice to see fellow supporters backing me up against rediculous comments.

Maybe a more sensible post is, what would other people do/change if they were in charge?

Just food for thought?

Yer totally get your point it is exactly why I moved to the boards five years ago, hopefully the new rink will adress the walking infront issues :)

I didn't boooo last game incidentally because I see that as a general whole team didn't try thing. But I did shout at a few individuals through the game.

As a more humerous note it was pointrd out to me we do have the cast of the wizard of oz now. Hill the lion, g skates like tin man and conboy has no.... u get the idea!

Your a shrewd person moving to the boards, seriously thinking of doing the same, people walking back and fore and turning up late then trying to get to their seats in middle of a row is really starting to grind on me

I agree with the issue about fans arriving late to their seats. This happens at the start of each period and the atmosphere at the start of the 2nd and 3rd period in particular seems to be affected. I may be imagining this but the lack of atmoshpere seems to affect the team and we seem to give up a lot of goals at the start of each of these periods.

Maybe we should have a 2 minute warning to get back to your seat before the period starts and maybe the bar, cafe etc. should stop serving. Also, if the bar pre poured some pints during the period it would mean people would get served quicker and thene people wouldn't have to spend the whole period break queing for a drink. Probably never going to happen but would be nice if it did.

I wouldn't stop serving, as there are fans who like to spend the game in the bar, socialising... or want to pop and get a drink.

The rest however - that should have been done yesterday. All the other arenas have stocks of pints ready for the intervals. It just moves the queue much quicker. Same for tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

I had never thought of that. If they prepoured 20pints of larger and cider you could be WAY ahead of the game so to speak. Can someone suggest it? Ud think if they counted up how many they sold on a prriod break a few games in a row u could easily esstimate a safe total to pre pour

The problem I have with booing is that it usually comes from people who are either not that intelligent or don't have a good understanding of the sport.

To them, if we win it's good. If we lose, it's bad. Good = cheer. Bad = Boo.

I've been at football games where Cardiff City have played the opposition off the park in the first half but have been hit with a lucky counter-attack, and people have booed them off. Crazy.

I would only boo if I thought the players didn't care how poor they had performed. Hence why I have been known to boo the officials once or twice.

At the end of the games I've seen so far, the players have looked gutted. They know they haven't got the result they wanted. What good would me booing do?

In the last game the problem IMO wasn't effort but confidence. We dominated that final period but you could feel the pressure building on them and they weren't playing their natural game. In my view, booing at the end of the game is just going to make the pressure on them worse and hinder them further.

That's been the problem with every game I have seen this season. Even the victory in Sheffield the team lacked confidence. As soon as the other team counter attacks we don't know where we are, our passing is shocking no-one wants to have the puck.

That is why we came within a hairs breath of throwing away a 4 goal lead.

This team has talent in spades, and any team in this league would happily pillage what we have on the ice - but the team needs to learn to play together.

I think because of the results so far the players are for want of a better word afraid to have the puck in case they make a mistake as their confidence is proably rock bottom so add to that being booed off the ice, being slammed on here no wonder their not at there best

They are professional sportsmen. Booing should do nothing more than cement the loss, and I would hope they'd avoid reading the media - at the very least take it as fuel to improve and not just give up.

Or, to put it another way - I wouldn't want to sign a guy who gave up because the lack of performance upset the fans.

Aaahh love em too !!!... If they read the forum and can't take the heat, tough luck.
Also, they aren't being slammed by everyone, they are actually being supported by a good number of posters.

Totally agree with Finny.
The biggest problem for me is the Guys are leaking confidence and I mean "leaking". Things you do when at the top of your game come very easy, when it's not going well it's tough.
This is a sport. You win or loose. We may not like it. It is your prerogative to not return or even boo! But you know what! none of you guys booing are in any way going to turn round the string of bad results. You only serve to destroy any confidence remaining.
If you took the time to look at the teams faces when the left the ice you would know loosing is not a great experience.
No one is asking for blind faith. Just a bit of respect for effort and a much better last period.
Belfast were the better side on Saturday. I can't say Sheffield were, Nottingham weren't a great deal better than us, and some of you disgruntled "fans" forget we played without our #1 keeper.
Here to better hockey days to come! and maybe the boo boys get back to totally supporting the Team.
