So looks like the Steelers got what the wanted

http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/sport ... ticle.html

"CARDIFF Devils’ serial irritant Brad Voth will miss the crunch Challenge Cup game with Nottingham Panthers on Saturday in South Wales after getting a three-game ban.

The 6ft 5in Canadian forward – a regular offender during his six seasons in South Wales – was cited by Sheffield after a head-high hit on their defenceman Steve Munn during their game last weekend.

* Panthers' game with Sheffield Steelers at the National Ice Centre on Christmas Monday, December 27, is heading for a 7,000 sell-out -- 13 days before the game.

(Probably worth its own thread so that no one misses it )

Re: Voth banned for Panthers clash

Can we please see the video now? If Hicks has upgraded the call purely based on the injury then that is total crap... so show us the money Elite League! Or continue to be the minor, amature operation that you show yourselves to be continually.

Re: Voth banned for Panthers clash

So the ban is actually down to Hicks for upgrading the call on the night. Unless this is to try and divert blame fom the Steelers. (Nothing would surprie me the way this sham of a league works)

I hope Crybaby Corey plays for the draw and says a big FU to the Steelers...

Unky Bob will have something to say about that mind you!

Re: Voth banned for Panthers clash

Wouldn't be surprised if Panthers asked Steelers to push it.

But the report is Hicks upgraded the Munn hit call on the night. Like we need more reason to hate him.

Re: Voth banned for Panthers clash

I guess they asked Hicks to look at it. Looking at the pr Hicks upgraded the penalty himself after the game, rather than a diciplinary review taking place. The match for checking to the head carries an automatic madatory 3 game total.

Looking at this - http://www.eliteleague.co.uk/one-match- ... ne-p167187

- Andy French confirms that the league automatically reviews every match penalty to decide whether it was a match or not in the first place.

Andy French, the Elite League’s director of hockey operations, said: “The disciplinary committee spent hours watching the footage supplied by the Nottingham Panthers, as is mandatory for all match penalties."

The Voth hit must have been caught on camara as the release says Hicks viewed the incident after the game - therefore the league would have had to look at it aswell to review Hicks decision before this anouncement was made, but they make no mention of reviewing Hicks' call in today's release. (as they did in Lepine's case)
