Tougher covid restrictions - risk to hockey?

Reading the article through, only applies to games played in Wales, wondering if Todd and & Co have a contingency plan, otherwise doesn't sound hopefull.

It's been coming but not impressed with the release at midnight. Pretty miserable way to treat sports fans. Hopefully things open up again asap.

How many fans would / could travel every week to Bristol or Coventry or somewhere though ?
Not enough to make it financially viable.
Todd has repeatedly said that the club can't run without fans in the building.

Well there's the answer then.

Our season has just been torpedoed.

Scotland isn't far behind making the same announcement. God knows what's happening in England. The lack of end date is slightly worrying, and makes planning difficult I would imagine.

Planet Ice Bristol is just 40 or so mins from Ice Arena Wales.

Issue would be capacity mind. I'm pretty sure that circa 1300 includes standing, its not a huge arena. Sufficient for NIHL not so much EIHL.

But would guarantee a sell out, you'd imagine?

There is £3million sporting fund to help teams at all levels during this closed door period.
Won't scratch the surface. Looking at just the top two football clubs. Swansea and Cardiff have on average 15k home attendances. Just for those teams to refund season ticket holders or lose out on match day revenue, you'd look at an estimated 600k per game for the two clubs...

*Based on an estimation of 30k tickets at £20 average value.

Thats without the idea of clubs being able to claim for an average match day turn over which may include retail, concessions and programs, for example.

Question is whether 1,300 at Bristol would be financially viable. How many ST holders do we have? If they all went then there would be no extra ticket sales revenue and you're left surviving on food and drink...and thats without expenses like rink hire etc
would need something to make up the short fall
