The guessing game

Thread starter #1
Ok, this thread is intended to be a bit of fun and will hopefully keep us busy until the new signing is announced.

I thought we could all put forward some suggestions for the new player. I guess it can be who you think it is and/or who you would like, but they have to loosely fit in with the criteria we have heard so far from G. So based on the fact then player is younger, have an eye for goal, is Canadian, and is a right shot. I guess they should be roughly 6 foot plus as well. I'm also basing it on players who have some kind of link to current Devils as we don't have much else to go on!

Here goes;

Craig MacDonald (Early frontrunner)

Ticks the above boxes and played with Prpich in New Mexico and played colege hockey with Silverthorn.

Top line of Prpich, Silverthorn, MacDonald? Is there any point in me continuing? Ah well.....

Konrad Reeder (Awesome season in 07/08)

Right hand shot, younger, canadian, definately an eye for goal, and has only played one game this season (with one goal) However, he's less than 6 foot.

Brett Hemingway

Ticks all the above boxes and played college hockey with Teplitsky

Justin Aikins (good record, but less so last year)

Ticks all the above boxes and again played with Tepkitsky at college

Ryan Menei (Currently in Italy)

Just about ticks the boxes and played with Hartwick at Mississippi last year

I'm saying Macdonald, infact i've convinced myself it's definately, 100% him.

Whether it actually is or not I don't know :)

I'm agreeing with Koop!

Also, I don't think it will be a particularly high profile signing. With Tyson coming in, I very much doubt it will be a big money signing, so expect a young, relatively unknown forward. For some reason I think he will definitely be from North America, not from Europe - no basis!

if you're a 'lefty' you hold the top of the stick with your right hand and swing from left to right.

the pics look like a lefty stick but it's hard to tell.

but if you play left handhand doesn't necessarily mean you are left handed in other activities :)

anyhow back to the topic!

How about Paul Cabana???

He's younger, canadian, 6'0, right handed shot, got a good eye for goal and doesn't seem to have a club at the moment.

He was quality with Glowa for the first month or two last season!

Interestingly in the walesonline mini podcast with Terry Phillips today it stated our new player is from the CHL and is currently there.

Looking more and more likely that its macdonald then for my money.

i think it wil be MacDonald, G has said young but he is only 27 compared to Hinks who is was 35? or so, Anderson 34?, so he is relativley young compared to half the players in the league

It is confusing but a right handed player should be shooting left and vice versa.

I see, because i had always considered Silverthorn to be a right shot rather than a left shot. And to me the picture of macdoanld looks like he shoots the same to silverthorn.

But then if G is coming at it from the different perspective then it cant be Macdoanld coming over here. Which is a shame as he looked really good. Or maybe G has it wrong and some here are right
