PLANET ICE TO BUILD DEVILS' NEW ICE RINK

Granted, but then you can always try. Taking the car scenario, we service and MOT our vehicles for that very reason. The same approach should apply to an ice rink, especially in areas where lack of ongoing maintenance can lead to personal injury.

I would welcome the tender to go to any outfit that is capable of running the rink properly, even though deep down I would have liked the Devils to win. PI have only themselves to blame for their unpopularity as they have created it themselves.

I would like to stress that this is not a criticism of any of the Cardiff staff, as business ethics are generally driven from the top down. I am sure they are treated as well as the customers, and don't need to feel personally criticised as well.

Rant over, I've said enough on this now.

Having a background in maintaining high availability plant, I would be interested in seeing PI maintenance records.

Against the equipment I have been responsible for an ice plant is hardly complicated, and hardly used.

An ice plant just does the one job, and have a finite number of moving parts. You service those, maintain a stock of spares for most. Not rocket science. Execpt...oh hang on, spares cost money...

If it's that easy - give the Manager a shout

Seriously I think your experience will tell you that it's never quite that straighforwards. However if it makes you comfortable there is a specialist refrigeration company that are paid well to service the plant, as well as have spare parts available. I'm not sure how the ice plant would be 'hardly used' though? :|
