As always, the Panthers don't offer a webcast so there's nothing whatsoever to link to here...

We'll be running the 'ridiculously childish and disgustingly biased' Match Night Live service for this game as always expect name calling, slurs and bad jokes about keepers not being able to stop beach balls in epic proportions; all at the usual location of http://www.the-inferno.co.uk/mnl

If you'd like to chip in with a comment or make a score prediction on the night you can contact us at matchnightlive@gmail.com

Texters are always needed so if you can help us out please get in touch by PM or text the MNL line on 07527 625206.

The Panthers has released a statement saying that Kristian Kudroc has returned home because his father is seriously ill. Terrible family circumstances and hope things work out well at home.

From the Panthers perspective, they are weakened defensively now with Waugh and Dimmen still out. Interesting to see how Neilson sets up his defence for this game.

It's going to be a slog in the NIC - hope our Guys are as prepared as they can be. No better test than against Steelers on Saturday.

One thing is certain we can't play as badly against them twice in a row can we!!. We need to play every game like we did Sunday as near as dam it from now to end of season

Thoughts to the Kudroc and his family.

On the no livestream...would have thought all teams would have wanted that by now, shame icetime TV can go on the road and broadcast..

Panthers owners view is that if the arena isn't sold out then they are losing revenue with a livestream. The fact it works well for all the other teams (apart from Braehead, which they also own) seems lost on them.

We are on the lookout for texters for this game so if you are off to the Lace City and can help us out text MNL on 07527 625 206 and we will pass the info to Bozman who is hosting.

As you say it works well with others but something must be going on in Nottingham.

Steelers don't now steam Panthers games from their barn because commercial operators in Nottingham will not pay the commercial rates and thus pirate the webcast.

Presumably Panthers have a similar issue but it impacts their attendance. Given the capacity in Notts their margins from bums on seats must be tight - surely the capacity in pubs/clubs in not that vast in comparison.

It is though a problem that Dundee had solved by blocking IP adresses within a 20 mile radius Surely Panthers could introduce a similar technique as could Steelers using Notts based IPs

It does not realy explain Clan though as Steelers do not appear to block that webcast

For the rest of the teams it may be that the commercial model is different (a stronger remote fan base maybe) or just maybe they are in the business of truly serving fans

Also, it would only be right and proper to have the GLT at the end of season playoffs. Nottingham should be instructed to have it installed by the Elite League Committee.

Big game but travelling more in hope than expectation. We need to change our tactics after struggling against the Panther's trap all season (not just last weekend!) Maybe a bit of crash-bang-wallop, or alternatively play them at their own game and sit back, inviting them on. Whatever, we need to get pressure on Wiikman, he is undoubtedly a class NM but if you get to him early, he can crumble in a Brian Stewart style.....

I would go with an open mind about the result, but would expect a solid, thought out and well executed game plan.
You're right regarding your basic game plan, as Devils will sit back, hit hard and execute a couple of breakaways.
You will see a very focused and disciplined Devils performance at the NIC

This game may be a slog against our nemisis team. 3 imports and David Clarke down , the Panthers are finding ways to win. Respect Neilsen..his team would be even better if he had injury cover.
Hope our Guys play with the same grit and spirit of recent games. Can't ask for more than a hard working performance. Would be icing on cake if Devils could earn at least a point from this tough fixture, though.

This is a big game. Others like Sheffield and Belfast have put a hat full past Nottingham yet we seem to struggle. Hit hard, hit fair, hit often. Put the bodies on the line and respond in the only way we know how. Play Devils Hockey. If McGratton steps up to protect his team allow Bordy to even it up a little. I am certainly not endorsing dirty play but tough, aggressive play where the Panthers see the real Cardiff Devils. We corrected the 0-8 within 24 hours with an amazing performance against the Steelers, this is the 2nd stage of getting back on this horse.

Big game, go get 'em boys

I know Lordo will have the guys flying out of the gate. I expect more screens an big bodies in front of the net to help us solve the Panther Puzzle.
Wish Nottingham had a livestream, but thankfully we have the awesome guys at MNL to keep us up to date. Go Devils.

Last I heard Nottingham are in the process of having it installed. They are certainly next.
Panthers have had it installed for quite a while now and have trialled it during most home games. The hold up isn't in Nottingham, regardless of what people have read elsewhere.

I understand the hold up is the quality/reliability of the systems some other teams have installed, with the league being unwilling to implement GLT until it improves.

The system Panthers have is the same one used during the CHL games held at the NIC.

The Devils need to crash the net more to unnerve Wiikman, maybe drawing a few pens from their d men in the process. They also need to find a way to throw the Panthers off their game and out of their playing rhythm.

we have no answer to the panthers which is getting concerning.to lose today to a team who have played 3 games this week short benched and down to 4 d men is not good enough for me.if we don't win the league it will be because we cant beat the panthers.
