NIHL Devils v Chelmsford Chieftains 21/9 7pm FO

#2
This is a big game for Cardiff tonight. Chelmsford were the league winners (again) last season. A very strong and experienced team on their way to the BBT tonight :x A massive test for the new team. Likely to be a "bumpy ride" and entertaining. Much support and noise required to get behind the team!

Despite the score, the young team can take a lot from this game. That Chelmsford team is very good and will no doubt be there or thereabouts for the league once again.

Some very good goals from the Devils with Owen Griffiths x 1, Callum Buglass x2 and Adam Wood penalty shot.

Despite the score it was a really entertaining game. There were lots of goals - sadly too many from Chelmsford - but really appreciated their skills. Some slap shot goals you could clearly see into the net. Good effort from the net minder facing the league champions. If Brabon is 1st minder, Takel 2nd then for a 3rd choice he did well.
Really impressed with the fitness/speed of the "younger" players on the ice. They skated rings around Chelmsford who you could see tried to slow the game which of course was to their advantage.
We therefore had a game with goals, a great penalty shot from Wood and a fight involving Sadler. Great sound/commentary/music also :D Bluglass had 2 goals and MOM. I believe the message was clear that we were not going to give up and also we are not "pushovers"
Some questions though:
- Why isn't Brabon playing?
- Where is Lockwood?
- Who is number 20? Another one to watch!
- Any away trips available for supporters?
- Programme?
- Where is our Drummer? missing him!
- Missing Tom also!!!
Another tough game away next weekend at Isle of Wight. Good luck everyone involved. Go for it!!!!

Hi,

Just to answer a few of your questions:

Brabs picked up an ankle injury at the start of the year but should be back soon and tacks has a groin strain which he thought was ok for the game on Saturday but in warmup it still wasnt feeling right.
Louis is still suffering a shoulder injury. Im not exactly sure how long he is expecting to be out for. I think he is waiting on result from a scan.
Number 20 is Stevie Balmer. Should be a good player for us this year
As for away trips. Nothing is set in stone yet. We are looking to get coaches to several matches (Chelmsford, Invicta, London and IOW) if there is enough interest from people then I am sure that it will be affordable. If you are interested then please let us know either on here, Twitter or by approaching us in the home games and we will keep you updated as decisions are made.
There was an issue with the programmes being printed for the Chelmsford game so apologies for that. There will be programmes available for each game going forward.

Cheers for the support
