Anyone else think that the steelers are going to struggle this year? Look like losing a fair few players. Also why on gods earth apart from money which they dont worry about would they not sign this guy?

 So the guy is awesome, a great scorer, really wants to go to Sheffield, and has loads of clubs chasing him but Matsos doesn't want him because he may not adapt to the physical side (which isn't much really).

Somehow I doubt thats the reason he didn't end up going there. Probably asking for too much money or something.

Totally bizarre this. Sounds like the Steelers media machine didn't want to put a negative spin on it if the guy turned them down.
Makes Matsos look much more 'in control' of the situation for him to say he didn't feel the player was quite the right fit, doesn't it?

The German OBL is much like the EPL. Mostly home-grown players and a few imports that can fill their boots every week. Look at the team stats. Every Canadian in that league averages about 2 points a game. Now he might be a natural sniper who can score at any level and might be a risk worth taking, but Sheffield can do much better than this guy and sign someone with a far better pedigree.

Quite an odd article really but its the steelers so no real change their, its not really necessary as nobody would have known anything about it unless it was printed. Bit of a nothing read thats just trying to make the steelers look better, maybe its an attempt to keep fans entertained during this quiet time.

For once I agree with J.B.
This guy was rumoured a couple of days ago - but his stats I think flatter him. In uni his stats weren't that great - and it was hard to compare him with anyone because almost all of his team mates ended up in that same German League.
However, none of that is explained in the Star's report so it sounds like the Steelers have turned down an awesome player. When they clearly haven't.
