At the time of injury carruth was 6 weeks I believe...sooner the better tbh..bowns be burnt out by xmas at this rate the way he's playing. Should be looking to play the backup in a cup game at some point even if it's a last period job..especially as devils got 3 games on the spin coming up....thought brandt be back by now but I'm no doctor...storm game hopefully..shinkaruk ? Concussion? Could be week could be 12 weeks who knows . Mcwilliam not a clue be surprised if this coming weekend given he's missed 4 periods last weekend think that was Concussion related as well.?

Read last week from somewhere official (can't find the link now sorry, think it was a pre game post on the website) that Riley is back on the ice for conditioning, that was a week or so ago so would hope that means he's back in training now

concussion is something not to take lightly, there's no set time for recovery . also it can in some cases end up being recurring and that could end a persons career . hopefully mild concussion is all you get, the side affects are not nice to deal with.

I'm curious as to why the club don't post updates on injuries like professional rugby clubs tend to (not sure if this is an EIHL thing)? Doesn't need to be overly detailed, for example; player x day to day upper body, player y 1-2 months lower body. I just think it would avoid speculation amongst the fanbase and be a good way of keeping everyone informed. The club tend to be excellent communicators so I'd imagine they have their reasons for not disclosing.

We need another goalie if Carruth is going to be out for much longer
Last time I saw Mac he wasn't limping so I'm taking that as a sign he's on the mend and working on getting back on he ice.

I'm curious as to why the club don't post updates on injuries like professional rugby clubs tend to.
That will be down to the club protecting players that are still playing with an injury, last thing they need is players being targeted by clowns who are intentionally out to further cause harm and hinder the clubs chances of winning games.

Why do we need to know anything about the injury situation?

Another reason it’s probably kept quiet is because on the whole there’s a lot of weirdos in the fan base who would suddenly become experts on that injury. I played against someone who was pals with Dan Lacosta years ago; he said he had Devils fans in his social media DMs asking if he’d had the results of an CT/MRI on his brain, what the results were and asking very personal information. Details of injuries are on the whole medical in confidence, they aren’t NHL players, they are normal blokes. Too much reporting on their injuries can impact them getting future deals with new teams.

Sometimes it's nice to have an idea when player X will be back on the ice etc etc, but fully understand the secrecy surrounding players injuries. Most other sports update on players injuries so hockey is a bit unique in a way, just hope one or two are nearing fitness and can help their teammates out on the ice very soon.
On a bit of a side note Ben Davies rarely seems to be on the injured list, which is great for the team especially when you consider his role on the team, I know he does less minutes than some of the other players but his injury record is excellent.

Gutted for Coughler. For such a good player he is blighted by bad luck and injuries. When he gets a run of games to get some form I really rate his game but he just seems to be one of those guys the hockey gods have it in for. Hope this is his last injury and he can get his career going.
