DOPs does not cover pre-season, hence why Tansey was not assessed for the hit and Brandt was not for leaving the bench.

Frankly no idea why they don't do pre-season games but... they don't

They never have. Its an agreement between 2 teams to play a game, effectively nothing to do with the elite. Roster restrictions were also ignored and in the case of the Belfast game we played CHL rules.
The league can't really arbitrate on games that they aren't anything to do with.

To be fair, I can't every remember a preseason played in quite the way this one was. There were a lot of markers laid down in those games which are going to be remembered when those teams next meet.

And yet elite lge officials were used..

Elite league officials and Elite league players ... just like the players, it doesn't mean the officials on the night were working for the Elite League
