Harvey banned

Genting Casino Coventry Blaze forward Kevin Harvey has been handed a four-game ban following a Rapid Solicitors Elite League disciplinary review.

The suspension follows a supplementary discipline request from Fife Flyers over an incident in the third period of Blaze's 6-1 win at the Skydome on Sunday night.

Harvey was given a 2+10-minute checking to the head penalty at 46.02, which has now been upgraded to a match penalty for checking to the head.
The minimum three-game ban applies but an extra game - which can be appealed - has been added due to the severity of the incident.

Harvey will now miss the matches against Fife (away - September 21), Hull Stingrays (home -September 22), Dundee Stars (home - September 29) and Sheffield Steelers (away - October 5).

Blaze take on Hull Stingrays at the Skydome in the Challenge Cup on Sunday September 22 (5.15pmface-off). Tickets can be purchased by ringing the Box Office on 02476 630693 (option 0).

On further inspection, the reason why this is 4 and Henley only got 1 is due to Nottingham having a get out jail free card lying around.

Find it laughable,Henley gets away with assaulting a defenceless fife player,a paltry one game ban, harvey gets 4 for a huge mid ice hit with the fife player skating with his head down.

Think Henley will get what's coming to him when panthers play them again with Nickerson back in the flyers lineup.

Doubt it very much... Nickerson does not fair well against proven tough guys when the gloves drop.
