For those not travelling to Sheffield this Saturday....

With the ELITE DEVILS in Sheffield.... Why not come down and get your hockey fix by supporting the NIHL Devils in their first competitive match against last years Playoff Champions Chelmsford Chieftains.

This is will be a VERY tough game as Chelmsford are arguably one of the top teams in the league but a trip to the Big Blue Tent is always hard for any team and with the added boost of a noisy home crowd the players will get that extra edge.

New Devils import Sean Scarborough and new brit signing Steve Osman will both make their debuts too.

Chelmsford always bring a load of fans and we don't want to be out supported in our own building.

See you there

Tickets:
Adults £6
Kids £4

Looking forward to the start of the season and to see the new guys perform. Tonight will be a tough game. Chelmsford were the league winners last season and recently beat EPL Telford Tigers 3 - 2! (Isn't that the club where Tim Burrows went?)
Anyway, really hope that the game is well supported. It can really lift the players if there is lots of noise and can add to the score ;)
It's only £6 for adults and £4 for kids! A great opportunity to allow the kids to bring a friend to introduce them to this great sport for the number of supporters to grow. Simples :D

Disappointing start for NIHL losing the first game of the season 7-5 against the Chelmsford Chieftans.

Cardiff will be annoyed that they let a 2 goal lead slip with simple lapses in concentration that allowed Chelmsford back into the game.

Two Cardiff goals disallowed by Referee Freeman - The first was the sort of call where if it had been against us, we would probably have welcomed the referee's intervention to protect the goalie - sometimes they go for you sometimes they don't.

The second goal was disallowed for kicking the puck into the net. Shocking call Mr Freeman - it was a clear deflection off the player into the net and the goal should have stood - there was absolutely no kicking motion by the player.

I think, on reflection for the first time out the team performed reasonably well. Very impressed with Scarborough - he looks a great signing and is well worth watching. Alan Armour always entertaining and Jason Stone plays with so much composure at the back - there is much for the team to build on for the rest of the season.

Personally I thought the team played really well up until the last 10 minutes of the third period. It was one of the games that you wanted to end after the second when we were in the lead. Chelmsford are one of the top teams and if we could only have held on for 10 minutes we would have won :( There were some excellent goals from Stone, Armour and Dixon. 2 Goals were disallowed. Brabon did well despite the score line. Some of the pucs were hit at great speed by Chelmsford. One Chelmsford player got hit in the face and it took some time to clear the blood from the ice. Dont know what happened to him but hope he's ok.
Great start to the season. Great effort by the "regulars" and new players. I hear they beat Milton Keynes away on Sunday. Whoop
Next home game is on Saturday the 22nd September against Streatham Redskins. See you there. :Banana
