Flyers Vs Devils - League - 5th Mar 25 - FO 19:45

Was at the game tonight. Felt like a training game for most of it.
Really quick start and a ruthless first minute and a half. 3 for 3 on the powerplay too but Fife made it very easy - never heard such a quiet team on the ice before. We didn't half miss some sitters though, the score could easily have been 12+ to us but overall it was a professional display.
Todd was indeed at the game and was sat in the away section - he said hi and had a few quips about the game too

Did we miss some sitters deliberately I wonder? 6-2 feels like a deliberately respectful scoreline :)

This is feasible....a win would not alter the Devils' position in the League, and it's not like goal difference will be a deciding factor at any point.
Would have been a very respectful thing to do, as per not over-celebrating any goals scored on the Flyers.
The Flyers' players will be glad to get this season over with quickly now.

Todd Kelman is at the arena. Has he gone to negotiate? Are we buying Fife? :)
So local reporting in Fife today, as part of a story on a potential buyer for Fife, seemingly suggesting Todd Kelman might be linked to a consortium looking to take over the Flyers after he was given a tour of the town in his recent trip there. Any truth I wonder?

I was jesting about it in my original comment but is this more than pure speculation?

Stranger things have happened. I mean who ever thought he would come to us. Building a club back up, getting an empty rink full again, that's right in Todd's wheelhouse, that's why he left Belfast to come here. Wouldn't blame him to feel that perhaps with the limited ability if the devils to grow, no need to sell more tickets, that his skills are somewhat wasted here now.
Would be a disaster for us though. We have massively overachieved since he took over, and I fear if he left we would drift further down to mid table mediocrity, then some fans REALLY won't be happy.

I hope we don't have the same debacle as when Phillips took over the Squealers whilst
owning us.
I'll always remember the BBQ at Phillips home when he "introduced" us CDSL directors to
the Squealer's Booster club to share the news and to ask us to share our fund raising that we
gave to the Junior Development, run by a certain Pete Russell as it happens, so they could
implement for them.
Boy did that bite us in the ar*e but that's not for this forum.

I've no idea of the logistics surrounding the Flyers but people said the same about the Devils before Todd took over. Barely scraping 1000 - 1200 with groupon tickets they couldnt give away. I believe Flyers have the capactiy (although the numbers stated for their rink seem to fluctuate massively I think its roughly on par with our arena) so if the marketing is right, and the catchment holds enough possible supporters, I don't see why it couldnt thrive like we have.
