I never worry now if the Devils head to overtime or a shootout these days. They have the systems and specialist players to make that difference this year. Great result.

Tonight also demonstrated how important GOAT is to the Devils. He has a higher level of skill and leadership as a clutch player, making an impact at the right time, motivating the team.
What a way to win, though. Flames must have thought they had that game wrapped up.

Since the Continental Cup in particular there is a fighting spirit and determination in this team which is driving them at the business end of the season despite injuries and fatigue.

Feels like a Lordo win. Cruise for 50, play for 10, rely on a brace from the GOAT to keep us in it.
Spot on. Bizarre game all round, poor stuff for the first two periods and absolutely bonkers final period. The officiating veered from fussy to inept (the Crawford penalty in OT being the nadir) and that contribute to the friction that was clearly there all evening.
Decent away support for a Sunday night and actually I came away thinking exactly what @James said, it was like a return to the Lordo days

After Saturday's win I was never more confident that we would lose to a Guildford team who were desperate to end their bad run of form.

I must admit I had stopped checking the scores when the 2nd period ended 0-2. Had quite the shock when I checked back later to see it was 3-3 and in OT, and by the time I had clicked the game to see the order of scoring we had already won!

Massive result after a tough week. This side has something special about it.

Great win especially as flames were out to stop a 6 game losing streak, not seen highlights but if true ferguson crosscheck bowns to the back of neck surely Devils will ask for a review and let dops deal with it, I'm hoping he plays Friday and someone gotta no choice him from puck drop, he gets away with murder against us and probably other clubs knowing no one is going to react . Step up Mr batch, time to get those fists moving . Just saying

It does seem to be true. I watched the video back and Ferguson goes onto his knees and then there is a second movement where he cross checks Bowns to the back of the neck. Pity I can't attach a video file as I have a snapshot of it

Took two friends who had never seen hockey before to this game. Was trying to explain the rules to them but the officials made my job almost completely impossible. "Why did they give a penalty that time but not when something similar happened earlier?"

I hope the Devils put in for a review. It wasn’t a cross check, it was a deliberate elbow to the back of the neck with his bodyweight behind it. An incredibly injurious act that could have ended much worse for Bowns. There’s no place in hockey for that kind of behaviour, he won’t answer the bell though if someone goes after him and it’s likely we would end up in a worse position with penalties.
For sending a long term message it would be much better if dops dealt with it with a decent suspension. The fact that we haven’t heard about it makes that unlikely.
