DOPS

Surely if the Department of Player Safety are going to use video evidence then its only fair that all teams have the same camera angles covered or at least a camera showing the whole pad.

Like the league keep saying we cant have in game video for the refs to look at because all teams do not not have the same angles so surely it is the same thing for DOPS isn't it. So to get around having major bans at home teams could purposely have one camera meaning that anything off play that happens will mostly likely not get reviewed because there is no video evidence.

Saying that I think that DOPS has been a real good asset to the league this year but it does have major flaws but enforcing the simple camera angle as a must for all teams then this surely would help massively.

Rant over . . . . . . and lets get ready to ROCK THE TENT! :Banana

Maybe all rinks should be forced to install 2 way mirrored plexi-glass so that there will be plenty of reflections that they can use to punish players in the future !

The idea is great its such a shame that its gone backwards instead of forwards.

The video explanantions are a good idea so every fan, no matter how knowledgeable they are about the rules, have a good understanding of why a ban is imposed. The downside is the wording used is appalling at times and doesnt match whats shown on the video, ie he violently punches the opponent when infact all hes down is pushed his arm out.

There is no transparency in this. No fans have any idea who is on the panel and as such wont trust the findings, quite rightly to.

Theres no consistency either. It seems depending on who you play depends on the ban, not the incident itself. Plus the current issue over Lloyd & Sawada particularly is simply shocking & disturbing as DOPs appear to have gone against their own 'rules'.

Unless things change this is likely to bring UK ice hockey down not up.

The camera didn't miss the incident, there was no incident. Hate to say it but Lloyd was very unlucky to receive a spearing call. There was no spear at all. Just seen the highlights.

Agree... He's probably got away with more than he's been wrongly called for mind!

How on earth was that spearing? Did the ref see a different incident off camera? Surely he must have done? Amazing

And why was Sawada called for boarding? The puck had only just left the stick and Hutchins did not have his back to him? Amazing

So the Stars played most of the game with 2 lines? 2 lines? Amazing

Just amazing......
