The Devils are on the road this Saturday taking on the Nottingham Panthers in the NIC.

Nottingham don't offer a web cast because of the fear that web casting live hockey may attract sharks or something probably just as daft about people not going.. and with the recent declaration by the fun police you have almost no hope of a sneaky Periscope look see either.

We will be running the 'ridiculously childish and disgustingly biased' Match Night Live service for this game as always expect name calling, slurs and bad jokes about keepers not being able to stop beach balls in epic proportions, at the usual location of http://www.the-inferno.co.uk/mnl

If you'd like to chip in with a comment or make a score prediction on the night you can contact us at matchnightlive@gmail.com

Texters are always needed so if you can help us out please get in touch by PM or text the MNL line on 07527 625206

every game has to be treated as a war, we need points ideally 2 from every game. Hopefully we get the 2 points and put the pressure on Steelers and the clan. Whilst the clan have 4 games in hand they haven't won them yet??

Another massive road game again. 60 full minutes of concentration and hard work. Panthers will not let up and will punish mistakes. Their goalie Wiikman is back and plenty of attacking firepower to put pressure on our defence. They are on a bit of a winning roll themselves v recently so will definitely be up for this in front of a big home crowd.

For me, lose this without picking up at least a point and the league campaign is virtually over. Another huge game and double importance if we want to at least win our conference and get a good seeding for the playoffs.

You bloody beauties, what a awesome performance, and a shut out by the best goalie in the league. To go into Panthers land and come away with a 3-0 victory and a shut out is truelly amazing, when this team plays to its potential it's unstoppable. Well done lads superb performance.
HAPPY HOCKEY DAYS.

Wow a truly fantastic result. The team's ability to absorb pressure and play with confidence is key to their performance. Well done to the Boys and especially Bownsey....an impressive shutout.

What a great result, a wonderful 2 points.
Barring an implosion from Braehead though, it looks like their league due to the ludicrous conference system, which is an absolute travesty in my opinion. Whoever wins the league this season (even if we manage to take it), re-organisation of the EIHL competitions is a necessity for next season. Having the league as the number one competition, with such lopsided conferences where you don't play every EIHL team the same number of times, can't be allowed to continue. It makes a mockery of the EIHL. If conferences are here to stay, then we need to scrap the league title and have more meaningful play offs as the main competition, with conference titles to play for as secondary honours (plus a cup competition culminating in a fan event weekend). Nielsen referred to it this week and previously Kelman. Let's hope people like this are listened to and can bring about this needed change.

Even if Braehead do come through to win it Devils still need to keep playing as winning the conference would assure second place and the other CHL spot. As much as the CHL is a step just to far for the EIHL it is the closest thing to mainstream acceptance with European hockey and I dare say for a team like Cardiff would be a brilliant marketing tool for sponsors over next summer and a useful recruitment tool.

I'd honestly say behind a potential league win the conference is the next most important trophy to Devils this year over and above the Challenge Cup or Play offs. Crap for fans as conference is nothing to really get excited about but commercially the bigger trophy.

Fantastic result, made a little sweeter with other results around the league.

With regards to the CHL, if we say braehead wins the league. If we win the conference but Sheffield second in the league, who qualifies?

In that scenario Devils qualify. The seedings for league are League Champion, Then Conference champ with most points and then other conference champ. Then all teams in order.

Sheffield could finish with more points but if Devils win conference as Breahead would be both league and conference champ up north Devils would still finish second in league and take spot. Hence its so important Devils take the conference if they can.

Wow what a performance what a result, cant remember many times when the panthers were blanked at home. Another big step forward, should give the team huge confidence going forward. Be interested to hear from people who saw the game to hear how the game plan differed in this game compared to the last game at the Squeelers

Lets go Devils!!!!!

What a tremendous defensive performance compared to the porous defensive play of Wednesday night!
devils were prepared to sit back and take the pressure and hit them on the break, culligan as ever was as solid on d again, even in the last 2 mins plus, panthers lifted their netminder and still couldnt score with the xtra player in attack, awesome display by d and the patience of our forwards reaped the rewards , well done coaches ,players and fans who witnessesd this awsome road trip. :D
