Bloody excellent :)

Can't believe we turned that around, I said at the start of this thread I just couldn't see where our goals were going to come from...

Think i'll have to eat my own words, sounds like a cracking game, should've gone to see it, I just hope the return leg is just as exciting :D

What a contrasting game tonight. The Devils were pretty annonymous during the 1st period. We weren't particularly physical and failed to generate any decent chances.

Silverthorn - missed a bucketload of chances tonight, but thankfully managed to get a couple. i hope this will lead to him finding his scoring touch for the year. Silver's second goal was a poke check on the blue line that he then took in on goal himself and scored between perras' legs - short handed and killed the game off - awesome.

Prpich was fantastic again tonight and fully deserved his MOM. What impresses me the most is the attitude he shows when we are down, and always seems to be able to drag all the guys up a level when their backs are against the wall.

MacIver. The fight was pretty non-conclusive and ended in a bit of a hugfest. However, Doug was on Lewis like a lightning bolt after a pretty nasty boarding hit on Hartwick. I loved this as it showed how tough we are as a unit, and meant that Voth didn't have to get involved. Lewis got himself booted out, and totally handed us the impetus. Arguably he should have got our MOM?!?

The brits played really well and put in some good holding minutes against the top cov lines aswell.

Tommo must be terrified because the team he seems to have put together is full of defensive holes. Perras seemed to loose it abit after conceding 3 quick goals.

Slimy Simms was at the game, thankfully Bonniface didn't bother reading the script Simms tried to give him!

I've been on a few long Cov trips, but i've never smiled so much after a Cov trip as tonight. Fantastic.

Awesome photos thanks.

Also, Elite stats shows Prpich was credited with Silver's first goal, making it a hat-trick night for Pirps!

Nope that was an error by ih update, prpich didn't get a hat trick.

Think is was
Likit Anderson x 1
Silverthorn x 2
Prpich x 2

The official game sheet shows that Prpich DID get a hat-trick and Silverthorn only 1 goal.

I had been given to permission put the official game sheet on here by the PR Manager at the Devils but I am experiencing some difficulty in uploading it. Profuse apologies!

Well that will give the boys some great confidence going into this weekend. How many teams have scored 5 unanswered goals in the Sky done at this level. I can’t think of any.

After the first it was looking really bad. 5 on 5 we were more than competitive. Hitting the post and miss-controlling an open goal. Trouble was our discipline wasn’t great and any team under Paul Thompson’s region is going to nail you on the PP and they certianly did that.

The game changed when Lewis was given game. Fair play to McIver for standing going straight after Lewis for his hit on Jarvis. Just like on Saturday, he saw someone take liberties and stepped up immediately. No hesitation and that is what you want from your tough guys. Lewis has the punches and McIver with the take down. After that we saw 3 goals on one PP (5 minute major for Lewis). I don’t think we scored 3 PP goals all last season so I was thrilled by that.

The Shorthanded goal in the 3rd by Silverthorne was an awesome finish. I’ve probably only seen about six 5 on 3 shorthanded goals in my lifetime so it is so sweet when one comes along, ala Silverthorne’s celebration. We continued to compete by netting another and again hitting the post with a bullet from Hartwich, who was outstanding all night. A real all round player we have in him. Great singing.

Voth was everyone and you really appreciate what he does out there. He threw a big hit thrown in the 3rd which had me worried when the whistle was blown. The hit was clean but deemed interference by Nige.

Stand out players in a very good team performance were Pripich Hartwich and Voth for me.

The thrilling thing about yesterday was the true character. After we conceded to 2nd goal in the first G called him timeout. His words then and after the first must have been inspiring as he lead his team to a wonderful victory. Good coaching on his behalf.

Last night proved what we are capable of. We don’t have the flair of Coventry or the Speed of Sheffield. We do have winner though. People who will out work, hustle, win the small battles in the corner and will dog out a win no matter hard the game is going. Play with that attitude all year and we’ll do very well indeed.
