Bochek was a weird one for me, he was the one player that the blaze signed that i wanted at the Devils (on paper...)

and he's been terrible, I thought he'd score much more than he did and put his weight about more too.

We'll see what the new guy is able to do i guess...

can someone post the article up here if they've seen it? As the Blaze website is down!

Article: Genting Casino Coventry Blaze are delighted to confirm that American, Chuck Weber has been named their new head coach until the end of the season.

The 41-year-old native of Lockport, New York, is a two-time Kelly Cup champion (2007/08 and 2009/10) and was also the ECHL Coach of the Year in 2007/08.

Weber, who won the IHL Turner Cup in 2000/01 as an assistant coach, had been head coach in the KHL with Medvescak Zagreb this season.

After seven years serving as an assistant coach with Orlando Solar Bears, (IHL), Trenton Titans (ECHL), Milwaukee Admirals (AHL) and Augusta Lynx and Utah Grizzlies (ECHL), Weber's first head coach role came with Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL) in 2006/07.

During his time with the Cyclones, he won the Kelly Cup twice and was named Coach of the Year having been a runner-up in voting the previous campaign. Weber also held the Director of Hockey Operations and Vice President of Hockey Operations titles during his four-year stay.

Weber was then head coach for Rochester Americans in the AHL in 2010/11 before moving to San Antonio Rampage, where he was head coach for two seasons before being promoted to Associate Coach and Director of Hockey Operations in his third year in 2013/14.

Director of hockey James Pease said: "Chuck has had a fantastic ECHL and AHL coaching career, winning the Kelly Cup twice.

"He has generally stayed with organisations for a few years where he has put structures in place to improve and make them better and that is what we know he can do with the Blaze.

"Chuck has been in the KHL which is regarded as the second best league in the world, he is hungry and ambitious and will make our organisation better.

"We know he is unlikely to stay beyond the end of the season because he will be hunted by other leagues in Europe and North America but we know he can make a big impact.

"We will utilise his experience and knowledge to the maximum while he is here. We are very lucky to have him and it is a fantastic opportunity for us to learn from him as we strive to get this club challenging for trophies again.

"It’s simply an opportunity for this club not to miss and it was so important we found a way to make this happen. This is an appointment, not just for now, but one that can help this club go forward in the future. He will be a fantastic ally in future years when it comes to recruiting and he will play a big part in helping us to put in place our coaching structure beyond this season.

“We will have to wait a couple of weeks while he gets his UK entry visa and in the meantime, Steven Goertzen and Mike Egener will carry on doing the great job they have done in a short space of time. I’d like to thank them for stepping up to the plate after Marc’s departure and they will both continue to play an integral part, working with Chuck, for the rest of this season. It’s a great opportunity for both of them if they are considering a coaching career in the future and I know they are very excited that a coach of Chuck’s pedigree is coming here for them to learn from.

“This type of opportunity doesn't come along very often and we are delighted that Chuck will be joining us.”

great coach, blaze just a whole lot better, he will attract top playerts
There was a piece on local radio that I missed and apparently Weber will be here for the rest of this season only, which is a shame as he looks like a decent proven coach.

Weber has to have the best pedigree of any coach to ever coach in the EIHL, maybe ever in the modern era. Great for the Blaze and the league.

Agree that he has a great pedigree but perhaps Mr Babcock might disagree with part of this... ;)

Must be on decent money there. Can't help but think a high pedigree player/coach (like us with LORD) and binning off a couple of slackers would be better way to go for them. Guess time will tell

I can see that happening next season with this guy coming in as a mentor to Goertzen/Egener for the remainder of the season!

Wow a great resume on this guy......but he wont be staying into next season. I can see Goertzen being appointed player/coach next year. He did a pretty good job temporarily at Steelers before Adams went there

Those guys at Blaze are certainly going to learn from Weber. Whether he can turn their fortunes around in the last 3 months of the season will be interesting. Gardner (sp?) was in the same situation at Braehead 2 seasons ago and didnt have that much impact.

Looking at his track record he should make a positive impact...not his players though...quite a big statement from their mgt..a lot of expenditure for nowt much output this season.
