Rumor is he was making £850 pw. Quite a hefty hit to the Blaze bottom line - but he will be hard to replace.

How many imports are Blaze now carrying? Will they be seeking a Brit or import to fill that top D slot.

I get the impression this fella thinks he's better than he actually is.Fair play he got 1 and a bit seasons in the AHL but never stood out to me,Brit or otherwise.
Brit D are worth their weight in gold,especially top notch ones likes Richie but if rumours of his supposedly salary are true then Blaze can get 2 imports in for that.

Won't be able to recruit from GB team now either.

Phillips was a complete bust though, I'm still shaking my head that he got an offer from a team in Europe.
Still, he might shine there, which then raises more questions in Coventry I guess.

I don't think coaching has anything to do with his positional sense or ability to not give the puck away though

So if they have replaced Phillips with a forward does that mean that Matt Soderstrom will remain playing on D for the rest of the season ?
