After another angry email last night, we thought it was perhaps best to highlight that we're not going to tolerate people abusing whoever it is that is hosting Match Night Live, either with comments on the board or by emails sent to the MNL inbox.
All of the information comes from people at the game, for the majority of games this is Devils fans, or at the longer roadtrip games, we use information provided to us by fans of the home team, usually Capitals or Stingrays fans.
If you don't like something that is being reported on MNL, then post your own opinion on the relevant game thread or whatever, there are always going to be differing opinions but we will not tolerate emails such as the one underneath OJ had to deal with last night:
We have no idea who the person above is, but as far as we're aware they've never helped us out with texts from any rink in the 3-4 years we've been running MNL, accounts linked to them on here have also been banned so we doubt OJ will get an apology or we'll get a response to this thread.
The majority of people who do text for MNL do not hide behind usernames on here or when texting, even if their forum username does not match their actual name, they are known to us or OJ/Nott Simpson by first names.
Players relatives continue to use MNL, Hill is not the first or last player to have been criticised during games, but even relatives understand that the views are of people at the game and their views will be different and perhaps not what they want to see said.
No one gets paid, and no one makes money off the running of MNL, we do it so that Devils fans who are not at the games can follow them with almost every incident, hit, offside, icing, goal, penalty and others covered. MNL is run voluntarily, not just for the forum users but for those who use Facebook/Twitter/Whatever to follow the Devils.
