This weekend is arguably the most anticipated fixtures of the season for the Cardiff NIHL Devils as they face Invicta Dynamos on home ice. Invicta are historically the top team in the league albeit this season they have made a terrible start, already having lost 6 out of 12 from including a 6-2 defeat by the Devils in their own rink at the start of the season.

It's always guaranteed to be feisty between these two teams with no holds barred and usually some form of controversy when the Dynamos and Devils are involved. Dynamos are rumoured to have been given a shake-up by Coach Parrish this week with defenceman Tom Avery released and in recent weeks a few players have left of their own accord.

The Devils are fresh off the back of an away defeat in Chelmsford last weekend and will be looking to finish 2012 on a high. Cardiff are currently sitting in 4th place, two places and 9pts above Invicta in 6th. However, Invicta have 6 games in hand so this game is a huge one for the Devils.

Dynamos current top scorers are imports Justin Noble on 22pts closely followed by fellow import Peter Vaisanen on 19pts. Leading penalty taker is NIHL South new boy Nathaniel Rose on 48 PIMS who has been brought down from the NIHL North.
Devils leading scorers are import Sean Scarborough on 49pts and Brit Steven Osman on 39pts. Top penalty taker is tough guy Ross Wilkinson on 63 PIMS following his slugfest with Chelmsford’s Danny Cox last weekend.

One thing is for sure, there will be no Christmas spirit shown in this match.
