Cardiff NIHL Devils are aiming to build on a fantastic home performance last weekend when they beat league title contenders Isle of Wight Raiders.

After a disappointing loss the night before away to Invicta, NIHL head Coach Cuddihy was very pleased to have seen the bounceback he needed.  "I'm very happy with that performance against a tough Isle Of Wight team, we new we had let ourselves down in Invicta and the lads have shown that when we come prepared to battle we can beat anyone in this league."

Elite Devils Chris Blight and Mac Faulkner skated with the NIHL Devils on Thursday night as their exam schedule means missing their own training in the day so the late practice was perfect for them.  It also gave some of the NIHL Devils a chance to see what Elite speed and fitness is like and certainly upped the training tempo.

"There were a few players sucking wind after that" said Devils #13 Alan Armour.  "Mac and Blighter are probably two of the quickest players on the Devils roster and it was great to have those guys around to lift the practice.  We have some good speed in the team and our fitness is pretty good but these guys are a different level, it is great for the younger guys to see what is needed to compete at that level and what hard work and dedication is needed to succeed.  It would be great to see the Elite guys out a few more times with us as there really was a difference in the effort level tonight."

This Saturday Milton Keynes travel to the bay for the 2nd time this season.  Last time they left with a point in a tied game where the Devils struggled to capitalise on their chances and left it too late to push for a the win.  The result was a bit of a shock as Milton Keynes are towards the bottom of the league and have been struggling this season so the home team will this time want to take both points and keep the performance level high.

Devils will be without tough guy Ross Wilkinson who has a hand injury from the Invicta game, and also Robert Sedlak also through injury.  Louis Lockwood is expected to be back in training this week which is great news for the team and there will be new signing news this week also.  The next home game is 2nd February v Bracknell Hornets.

If you are not heading to Nottingham to watch the Elite Devils, please come down and support the NIHL Devils.
