"I'm delighted to be able to bring Phil back to Cardiff, Phil can play on D or as a forward, he's a big guy that sticks up for his team mates whenever they need it. We need players like Phil around with our young team. I've known him a long time and I know the good job he can do for us this season on D. In Stevie we have a very exciting player, he has great vision and movement off the puck, Steve will centre our top line this season and he's a very ambitious kid that wants to go far in the game, hopefully we can assist his ambitions here in Cardiff"

Steve Balmer commented

"I'm looking forward to the new season with the Cardiff NIHL devils its a new club a new start and I have heard a lot about how Cardiff is a great development club which I am looking to take this year to develop and take my career to the next level. Phill manny has been In contact with me over the summer explaining how much opportunity there is in Cardiff to expand as a player on and off the ice and anything I can take out of this year is a step forward for me. I'm also looking forward to playing in the BBT in front of the Cardiff crowd and meeting new team mates"
