Devils Netminder Davies on his way to Quebec
Cardiff Devils U14’s Netminder Lewis Davies has been given the chance of a lifetime, a trip to Quebec to play in one of the best junior hockey tournaments in the world. Davies had the call recently after numerous trials and he’s been given the nod to represent England U13’s at the tournament in February 2013.
Davies hasn’t been playing as long as most kids his age. Going into his 4th season as a net minder after 2 years playing out and now he has some representative honours to his name already. He represented his district side South West U13's at the National Tournament in Hull last May (which they won beating the Midlands 4-0 in the final) and now he’s gone through trials for Welsh and English children to represent Team England U13's and have been selected for Quebec.
On his selection, we spoke to Lewis to get his view on Ice Hockey and his future goals within the sport “I love ice hockey because ,its fast exciting and adrenalin pumping. My goals are to represent England U13’s to the best of my ability, which will reflect well on my team the Cardiff Devils U14 and country Wales. I would also like to play for Cardiff Devils Elite or maybe NHL for Vancouver or Tampa Bay”
This trip is being funded by Lewis’s parents so if any Devils sponsors would like to help with some sponsorship for this huge opportunity, they can do so by contacting Lewis’s dad @ peter23gooners@sky.com or for more information, head to : https://www.facebook.com/LewisDaviesQuestForQuebec or keep up to date on Twitter @LDQuest4Quebec
If any Devils fans would like to donate to Davies’s trip, you can via paypal @ peter23gooners@sky.com Show the subject as Quebec/Hockey fund.
We would like to wish Lewis all the best and good luck to the England U13’s in this tournament.
