It's hard to believe that finals weekend is already here. Feels like yesterday I was arriving in Cardiff and getting my first look at the big blue tent.
This season has certainly had its share of highs and lows. We've had to say goodbye to some great guys, but we were lucky enough to find new players that fit right in and play big rolls on the ice and in the room.
As we all know, the last couple months of the regular season were really tough. I don't know if I've ever seen a team have to face so much adversity all at once. But because of that, I've never been more proud of my team mates and coaches than I am this year. In hockey, when things get tough, a team can react one of two ways. Sometimes, players give up, start pointing fingers at everyone else, hide behind excuses and the team falls apart. In our case however, everyone, rookies and veterans, stepped up to fill the gaps in our lineup and we became a tight knit group all working for each other and the team. G and Franny have been amazing, they stayed positive and kept reminding us that we are working towards one goal, a playoff championship. This preparation showed last weekend, and now we're off to Nottingham.
Lastly, I'd like to thank you, the fans, for sticking by us and cheering like crazy over this roller coaster season. But remember, we're not done yet.......
See you Saturday.
