Well ello my lovely’s

I thought I’d done such a good job in my first blog that Geraint wanted me to do another.

Turns out he asked every guy on the team so I dunno if he was trying to tell me something. Most of the guys managed to get theirs in first so sorry if I repeat them a little.

Anyway onto this past week.

As you know we’ve qualified for the playoff finals in Nottingham. 10 years in a row. This is an achievement in its own right, now we just need to get over the final hurdle. I know every guy in the locker room has the belief that we can do it.

The game in Braehead, what can I say. It was a crazy old game from start to finish really. I don’t think the boys got off to a great start and I’m putting that down to Abam, he forgot to get the music box off the bus and we didn’t have any music to get us going. The good thing is even though everything wasn’t going according to plan the guys stuck at it and managed to turn a 4 goal deficit into a 2 goal deficit, something I know everyone knew we’d be able to overcome at the BBT. Ultimately though I blame Ben for the result! A few of the guys myself and Ben included went for a coffee before the game and due to Ben’s cheapness he refused to own up and pay for his coffee. I think the Karma gods weren’t best pleased! So if anyone sees Ben Davies in the queue for a coffee in Nottingham just make sure he pays this time.

Then came the home leg and more of the same! The guys came out fired up after Ty’s pregame speech and they never looked back taking a 4 goal lead. Braehead battled back and got 2 goals and for a moment it was tense but up stepped Gimbo with a huge goal in the last minute to give us the lead again. After that the boys came out for the third and finished off the job! It was a fantastic game, great effort by both teams and the atmosphere was second to none.

I wanted to give a shout out to a few of the boys who really stood out for me.

Blighter stepped up huge over the weekend getting 8 points on 12 of our goals.

CJ, what a performance and what a time to bag your first 2 devils goals, good job buddy.

Last but not least Whits. After a mixed game the night before (I know as a goalie and he’ll tell you himself he could of had a better game) but he really brought his A game on Sunday. I think it was because I promised him a hot dog after the game if we won.

This has been a fun week in practice, the boys have been going hard I even took some time off work so I could practice every day. We’ve been working hard with our new video coach Faulks who has been neglecting his studies to help us overcome Nottingham and get that playoff championship.

After the success of the playoff fades the boys got we then thought of having some playoff laces. So a few of the guys asked Macky and Mark for some new laces so they look good up in the NIC.

I stepped up my DJing this week as well leading into the playoffs. I wanted all the boys to enjoy this week and listening to some great 90’s hits helped the guys really get in the mood for the weekend.

On that note guys, I'm going to sign off but before I go I want to say anyone travelling up to the playoff finals have a safe trip and enjoy every minute of the weekend. It’s the best weekend of the year. Just remember make as much noise as you can for our final push, lets finish this year with a BANG!!!
