Hi guys,
I'd like to start by thanking the Inferno for asking me to do a blog, it's been a roller coaster ride for the last few weeks for the team and for myself personally. I started the season playing in the EPL for Swindon and never thought I would be playing Elite League for my home town team before the end of the season, but certain things weren't quite right in Swindon so I spoke with Cudd and re-signed to play for the NIHL Devils. Within a week or two the call came from Cudd that G wanted me to play as the Elite team were down on players, as we all know due to injuries etc, I was so happy at the thought and would do anything I could to try to help. G and Franny put a lot faith in me and I got a lot more ice time than I thought I would.
Moving on to the last couple of weeks and we have had a lot of games which we've been losing by a single goal and on the one hand this can be very frustrating, coming close on so many occasions and just falling short, but on the other hand we're taking all these good teams all the way and as short benched as we are we have to take positives from that!
Then came the playoff games of last weekend won't spend to much time on the away game but the two late goals we scored gave a real chance on the Sunday and that made the guys really up for it, knowing it was still in our grasp. We had a long trip back from Scotland and that gave us time to think and get motivated for Sunday. And well the rest is history. You the fans were amazing, the BBT was rocking and we started really well with scoring early. Whits was fantastic at the back. Everyone was incredible and I think the scoreline reflects that. I was somewhat relieved at scoring my first goals as it was starting to get to me that I hadn't scored, and I'm sure I'm not finished yet! Also to get 1star was a great feeling too and well the whole night is the best hockey moment of my career so far!
Myself and the rest of the guys are all pumped for the bright lights of Nottingham, we realise that no one expects us to go up and turn over the current league and CC champs, but we all feel this could work in our favour. There is a massive amount of belief in the locker room at the moment, and we haven't come to Nottingham to make up the numbers that's for sure.
All that leaves me to say is thank you to everyone for the help and support shown to me by G, Franny and the whole Devils organisation and by you the Devils supporters, I don't want this dream to end, so lets do this #REDARMY
See you Saturday
CJ
