Hockey SCIPS Coaches Named

The Hockey SCIPS charity match is gaining momentum. Support has been flooding in on facebook and twitter for the Wales v Rest of the World match, taking place in the Cardiff Ice Arena (aka The Big Blue Tent) at 6pm on 18th August.

The Brainchild of Cardiff NIHL Devils Head Coach Mark Cuddihy, 'Cudds' will also take the reigns of the Wales team as our first Head Coach. Alongside him will be another familiar face to Hockey fans, as the EIHL Devils Bench Coach Neil Francis steps up to support this great cause.

On the opposing bench, we are delighted to announce that the Rest of the World team will be coached by none other than the Cardiff Devils MD Brent Pope. Brent is just weeks away from the start of the EIHL season and we are extremely grateful to him for taking time out of a hectic pre-season to help us support the deserving cause of SCIPS.

The Elite League Devils play Esbjerg in the BBT on 31st August and that will be an exciting time. Several of the EIHL Devils are icing for SCIPS and tickets for the Esbjerg game will be on sale on the night.

Brent's assistant will be Ken Forshee. Ken has a wealth of hockey experience in the EPL and ENL and we're looking forward to having him on board.

Tickets are on sale (cash transactions only) from the Arena and will be available on the day for £10 Adult and £3 for children. There will also be an auction with some great lots, and a 50/50 raffle to win a cash prize at the game. More on that soon!

We have already announced several exciting players and our next announcement (tomorrow) will name the team Captains and more of their teammates.
