This weekend, four Cardiff Devils players are introducing the Hockey Players for Kids charity in Cardiff. Tyson Marsh, Chris Blight, Stuart Macrae and Mac Faulkner who are ambassadors for this organisation are offering some "one off" items including game worn shirts and other items which are available after the Panthers game this Saturday.

We spoke to Mac Faulkner to try and get some info about the charity and give us an insight into what he and the other players will be doing to give back to the local community.

“HP4K is a charity that works with hockey players to get them to engage in their local communities and become positive influences by working with and mentoring children.
HP4K operates in over 7 countries all over the world, as well as in leagues from the NHL, AHL, ECHL, CHL, NCAA to the UK, Italy, Finland, Poland and even Asia.

Fans can help by donating to our cause this Saturday at the Cardiff Devils match against Nottingham.  We will be auctioning off 4 Cardiff jerseys worn by Marsh, Macrae, Blight and myself, as well as raffling off a dinner with the 4 of us and a jersey donated by Jordan Fox, the captain of Nottingham. You can buy tickets to the raffle from our wives and girlfriends who will be out and about in the arena selling tickets, and after the game the auction will take place for the jerseys.

All proceeds will go to HP4K and the programs we are running in the UK, from Cardiff to Coventry, Dundee to Invicta.  In Cardiff we are working with youth groups, a few schools running literacy programs, partnering to donate and volunteer with a local hospice and running a Christmas present visit to a local hospital over Christmas.

If  people would like to learn more about HP4K, please check out our website, http://hp4k.org/ as well as ask us any questions after the game on Saturday or any time you see us at the arena or out and about.  You can donate as well after the game if you become interested online at our website.

If  people would like to become involved with our programs, please contact myself and we will let you know what we are doing and how you can help!

Through our website, http://hp4k.org/, we will post what we are doing around Cardiff and where your generous donations are being put to great use.

Tyson Marsh, Sty Macrae, Chris Blight and I have been co-ordinating the programs, but all our team has been extremely helpful in helping us out.  As well, Mike Schutte in Coventry, Doug Krantz in Dundee and Peter Vaisanen in Invicta are running HP4K programs in their communities.  Newly signed Chris Frank in Sheffield is a great HP4K member and he will no doubt be running a few programs in that neck of the woods.

Again, please check out what we are all about by talking to us Saturday or checking out the website.  All your donations go directly to HP4K.

Lets have a great game Saturday and thank you for helping us out with a great cause.”
