We caught up with Luke Piggott to reflect on last weekend’s games and the week ahead.
"Last weekend saw us come up against the undefeated league leaders Romford Raiders and local rivals Bristol Pitbulls. Romford is always a tough place to play and with the bus having broken down on the way to the game we had very little time to prepare for the game.

Romford have a very experienced team with most of their squad having played at EPL level at some stage, they played to the home advantage from the start and got away with very dirty play that culminated with the ejection of the worst culprit in the league for it, Billy Phillips, as he 2-hand slashed Hayes across the hand. At this point Romford settled down and began to play hockey but already 6-1 down we battled back but only managed to bring back the score to 6-3 in the 3rd period.

Sunday was a big game for us coming up against local rivals Bristol who have acquired a few of our players over the last couple years so there is no love lost between us. Our problem this season seems to be we always take a period off each game and Sunday was no different; this put us 2 goals down and ultimately cost us the extra point. A spark seemed to be missing for a local derby and we will need to up our intensity and improve on our execution in front of the net if we want to come away with 4 points this weekend. Oxford away is never an easy trip and they have probably the best goaltender in the league in Chris Douglas, they have also brought back Andrew Shurmer who is a solid defenseman and a dangerous point-man on the power play.

Bracknell travel to the BBT on Sunday and they have a young hungry team that never quits with a bit of experience in Captain Danny Hughes who is always a goal threat"

Bracknell come into Sundays game after a string of 5 losses so will be looking to put things right and try get the win to get them back on track.
