Devils @ Blaze 7.10.12
Despite the injuries and a visa appeal rejected, the Blaze maybe short in terms of players but they're causing issues for some of the big teams. Taking points when not expected to has been a true testament to the work ethic Paul Thompson has fed the players.
Before Sunday's match with the Devils, the Blaze travel to play the Panthers Friday night and Thompson had this to say about their short trip up to Nottingham “It is another tough game for us but every game is. All the games this season have been competitive. It is great for the league and I hope it continues.
“We are high on confidence right now and have really pulled together as a group. They have done a fantastic job. We have the most committed team in the league. They just never throw in the towel.
“Panthers have a quality line-up and we will show them the same respect as we do all the teams. But we can only worry about ourselves and we will be looking to continue our good form.”
Players to watch : Mike Schutte, Shea Guthrie, Greg Leeb, Brad Leeb
With the recent results being a mixed bag for the Devils, some fans have been calling for changes in certain places but Adams is sticking by his players and it's not just the fans who are hurting with these performances. Season long blogger for the Inferno Devin Didiomete had to say this recently in his latest blog:
Look at it this way we are a middle of the pack team as it stands right now and we aren't even playing our best hockey, imagine what will happen when we start to "click" and find our game as a team, it will happen it is just a matter of when. I am still so confident that this team has all the proper pieces to win a championship in this league. I know as fans you want results every week, and believe me so do we as players, you will get them, be patient and remember Rome wasn't built in one day. Every guy in that room is working hard, and wants to win, that’s not the issue, we just need to pay a little more attention to the small details of the game and all those small things will add up into something big!
So Red Army fans stay positive and know that every day we are working out all the little kinks in our game and we will turn this ship around!!!
