Day 2 - Devils @ Flyers
Saturday Nights see’s the Devils in action in their second game of three on the road in Scotland, after facing the Stars on Friday night it’s the Flyers on Saturday. The Flyers have been on a rough run of late winning just 2 of their last 9 league outings so they will be keen to take the 2 points from this clash.
The Devils most recent outing against the Fife side saw them qualify for the Challenge cup Semi Final with an aggregate score of 10-5 over the two match quarter final.
The Flyers have been in action twice since then starting off last Friday night away to the Braehead Clan in a game that flowed from end to end throughout the victory was there for either team to take. After forty minutes of play and with nothing between the teams, a third goal from the Clan and then an insurance goal at 59.52 gave two much needed points.
There was nothing between the teams after the opening session with the teams sharing a goal between them. The home side opened the scoring with a strike from Shane Lust at 5.30. They looked as though they would hold onto this lead however the visitors restored equality at 18.06 with a goal from Derek Roehl.
The teams still couldn’t be separated in the second period, the Clan went in front for the second time with a strike from Tristan Harper at 24.08. However, the Flyers came back once again with a goal at 29.11 on the powerplay from Ned Lukacevic.
The third session was much the same as the first two sessions with neither team given anything away. The Clan took the lead for the third time as Kevin Bergin fired in with nine minute remaining. It was still there for either team, however it was the home team who collected the points as Joel Champagne netted the insurance goal with 8 second remaining.

The Flyers were again in action on Saturday hosting fellow bottom three side the Edinburgh Capitals in a game where a brace from Bobby Chaumont helped Fife move three points clear of their opponents at the bottom of the league as both teams try to chase down a play-off spot.
The visitors took the lead with a powerplay goal late in the first period as player/coach Richard Hartmann scored at 19.27.
Fife were quickly back on level terms as they found the net with only 13 seconds of the second period played as Bobby Chaumont was on target. It remained like this until 30.22 as Matt Reber put the home side in front.
The start of the third period saw a bit of ping ball hockey as Ned Lukacevic added a third for the Flyers at 41.43 then at the other end Marcis Zembergs reduced the deficit at 42.30 only for Chaumont to score at 42.36. The hosts completed the scoring at 58.10 with a powerplay goal from Jordan Fulton.

At our last meeting with Fife at home they were missing another two piviotal players in Matt Nickerson and Kevin Regan with both these guys back in the line-up and on the road this will be no easy game.
We will be doing our best to run the “ridiculously childish and disgustingly biased” and “Pantomime Script” like Match Night Live service for these three games, expect name calling, slurs and one eyed bias in epic proportions, at the usual location of http://www.the-inferno.co.uk/mnl and will update on the forum once we know each game is going live.
