Wanted: Hockey folks to take part in the TunneltoTowers Run London on Sunday 21st July 2013!
I’ve been asked by Steve James, who played for Streatham Redskins and more recently for Lee Valley Lions, to put the word out that he would love to see some people wearing hockey kits/shirts in this year’s T2T 5k event. Here’s what he said:
‘Hi Maureen, How about we do a Special deal to promote Ice Hockey and the Fire Service together and raise some funds for a Charity of choice of you or the ice hockey league. How about I gift one or two entries to each team via yourself for the Tunnel 2 Towers Run in London on Sunday the 21st July 2013. In return each team/club sends someone to take part but they wear either the kit or just a shirt (we will be guided by you on this) They will all achieve a time because they will have electronic chips on their numbers....... Whats your thoughts ?? Steve James... T2T London’
‘We already have 3 to 4 Pro Football Clubs including Millwall, Crystal palace, Charlton, possibly Watford and West Ham all raising money for their junior sections......Plus they're all sending their mascots and some first team players. We have the FDNY American Football team (approx 5 of them) coming over and running in their full kit...... It'll be a cool day for everyone.....
He’d also love to hear from a pipe band who’d be able to take part in the proceedings, if anyone can help!
