Interesting to read the comments about the early season criticism, and just how deeply it cut.
His comments on toughness also echo mine - the League is quickly moving away from the enforcer route. The DOPS approach is a lot more transparent than any previous system when it come to punishment for hits/fights, and any cheap shots are dealt with in a more professional way than in other years. Toughness for me is also about battling for the puck in the corners, and keeping hold of it, withstanding big hits. We've got some of the best when it comes to that - Myers, Haddad, Faryna.
The ownership group has won so much already - I just hope they'll continue to be motivated by the whole Devils experience, and stick around for a few more years yet.
