Another player with a nice points ratio to his name. This team is shaping up nicely. Good to see Gerad focussing on good attitudes and leadership when building his side. Ingredients you must have to be successful at this level.

Another interesting signing who I shall look forward to seeing play for us and how he fits into our team.

Strange that he never really made an impression in the ECHL (other than his debut in the playoffs) as he has been amongst the top scorers of his team throughout his career.

Walesonline article: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballna ... -26401932/

Article says negotations on going with michel and voth and that a contract offer has been made to a new player.

Looks to be a very good signing that again seems to have little trouble finding the back of the net.
Now we have our 3 centers what do people think the lines will be? will macrae be our first line center?
Really looking forward to seeing pelle and macrae play :D

Just had a look on the CHL forums and one opinion of Macrae by a fan is:

You can have him....He is a puck hog and thinks he is the only one on the ice when ihas the puck. He runs from any kinda physical contact. Then he acts like he is better then everybody when he is on or off the ice even around the fans.

:? i hope thats not the case, an attitude we could do without having this season.

Interesting comment from Adams on that WalesOnline article:

We are really pleased to add a player like Stuart, who will give our roster a much greater depth and flexibility. This is another piece of the jigsaw that aims to give us scoring across all three lines.”
Is that a suggestion that MacRae will be our 3rd line centre? Surely you wouldn't say that about a 1st line centre?
Unless MacRae is our 2nd line centre and Finnerty is going to be on the first line. Perhaps far too early to start to work it all out?

The comment about depth in relation to Macrae and the comment about Pelle earlier, suggesting that G sees him as a real sniper, makes me think we might see the centres as
1st line Pelle
2nd line Macrae
3rd Line Finnerty

But who knows?

Seems to get very mixed reviews on the North American forums.. People saying he's a greedy player who puts up good points, but a lot of Amarillo fans saying they are glad he's not coming back...

Pelle is getting good reviews from everyone.

That almost sounds like some of the comments on here about a certain Devils player who may not be coming back!

Seriously, Stuart has been signed partly on Wes's recommendation from knowing him (personally?) and as a player. If he is half as professional as Wes, we should be very pleased.
Let's leave the judgements until he's on the ice.

Welcome to Cardiff, Stuart. The season can't start quick enough!

Think we're definately getting the picture of the quality and style of players G is targeting to build a team that can really challenge again....fast and gritty. 2 goalscoring centres for hopefully 2 years at Business School will really help stabilise the forward lines.

Very good points. It should also be pointed out that the vast majority of Bison fans didn't rate Jarvis at all and were very critical of him.

Wont need to be, or be able to be greedy with the team he is joining this season, and he will be happier in Cardiff than he has ever been before no problem there. Welcome to Cardiff Stuart you will enjoy your stay big time, just as your mate Wes did, the team is coming together very nicely thank you, bring on the season i say.
HAPPY HOCKEY DAYS.

Looks a very decent signing. I'm liking the mix of young hungry imports and a strong core of British players. The 3 year plan to win the title seems to be on track ;)

But why is it that some fans are never happy unless a player has anything less than substantial NHL or AHL experience? :x

For instance, some Panthers fans seem to be forgetting that it's all about how that player works with the rest of the team that impacts on performance, and not neccessarily the fact that the player might have been a 'big gun' in North America a few year's ago.
Most imports have played in leagues of a higher standard than British ice hockey. Ironically, Marty Gascon for the Panthers, a player with no NHL/AHL experience and a virtual unknown to the UK, performed almost as well points-wise as Cameron Mann and Jay Henderson.
Granted Henderson joined half way through the season, but Gascon didn't play every game either being left out a few times by Uncle Corey! There are plenty of other examples too of outstanding players in without NHL/AHL experience but are gritty, fast and hungry to perform. :D

Seems to be the way of a lot of the panthers fans and even their club. Get big names in irrespective of if they can play together.

That's right, give me a team of Tylor Michel's every day of the week over a team of Cameron Mann's.

And here are some recent examples of just that...

Brandon Benedict (Giants)
Simon Lambert (Edinburgh)
Marc Hurtibise (Edinburgh)

Yeah, outstanding forwards.

And from our own Devils, in addition to Tylor, there have been several excellent players without AHL/NHL experience:

Ryan Finnerty
Matus Petricko
DC (awesomeness cut short by injury season before last)

And all these guys mentioned are/were team players too.
