Devild head to Altrincham on Sunday afternoon to face the Storm. Devils are on a run of poor formand need to get momentum back heading into the post season, meanwhile Storm are fighting for their playoff place near the bottom.

Rarely a dull game at Alty so looking forward to this one. We have humped them a few times there (I am sure @BigFan will be along soon with the details) and my perception is that MacDonald loves the place. I enjoy the fact that the ice is noticeably smaller than most and that the benches are right next to each other which means that there is always something going on between the two teams. They desperately need to win this one, we have little to play for so I wonder if it will be a rare defeat up there?

Yes, Manchester is my favourite away rink (except for the bar queues) and Devils head back there for the fourth and final time this season, and yes @kettdevil1, Josh MacDonald has enjoyed it there so far with 4 + 3 (including a hat-trick) making him our top points scorer and with a massive 8.05 points per 60 minutes played equivalent. He, Cole Sanford, Kohen Olischefski and Cody Donaghey have all scored points in every game there this season.

I think it's 5 seasons since we lost there ..
We do indeed have an impressive recent record in Altrincham as Devils have not lost there, as you say @BostonBart22, in over 5 years (since 4th January 2020) and have now won 13 in a row there.

This season our form in Manchester has been in contrast to that against Manchester in Cardiff. We were only 1-1-2 vs Storm in Cardiff (score aggregate 14-16), but in Manchester having won all three games so far our aggregate score is 14-3.

In Manchester the period aggregate scoring has been: 1st = 2-1 Devils, 2nd = 8-1 Devils, 3rd = 4-1 Devils.

Taz Burnam has been superb in Manchester in his two games there – saving 57 out of 59 shots on him (96.61% saves percentage) including one shut-out, and Ben Bowns hasn’t been bad either with a 94.44% saves percentage (17 out of 18).

In Manchester so far, Devils have out-shot Storm by 92 to 77 (with score percentages on these being 15.22% to Devils and 3.90% to Storm) but Storm have the edge on face-offs as Devils have only won 45.13% of the match-ups. Kohen Olischefski leads time-on-ice with an average 20 mins 3 secs per game. Andrew MacWilliam leads +/- scores with +5.

We have 5 powerplay goals in Manchester so far (Josh MacDonald has 3 of them) from 15 opportunities (33.33% success). We’ve killed off 8 out of 9 penalties there for a PK rate of 88.89% and average 11.33 PiMs per game and 4 minor penalties per game.

If there are plenty of penalties, there might be a few goals if we base this on recent special team form - over the last 5 games played Devils poweprlay remains ignited with a PP success at 38.5% and Storm's isn't far behind at 33.3%. Storm’s PK success has been 84.2% but Devils's has really dropped off and has gone down to just 60%PK success rate.

After Friday’s game against Belfast we might see some forced changes in defence as neither Gleason Fournier nor Cody Donaghey finished the game, so we might assume Josh Batch could return having been scratched for the past 6 games since 8th March.

Devils have pride and form to play for, Manchester have a still mathematically possible play-off spot to fight for.

With our D corps dwindling with injuries after last night this will be a huge task to win, as you say storm need the win more than us , our position is 4th and more or less finish 4th, we can't go there with all guns blazing like last night, with the playoffs coming up, just put on a good show and come back injury free...just saying

The problem with that rink is that if you are less than 100% committed you are likely to get hurt so I hope we are injury free but the way we have worked this season has been to hit them early on and put them on the back foot. I suspect we will be a little more circumspect than yesterday but hopefully not too much

No fournier or Donaghey, batch returns and bowns start , storm missing a few players .
Interesting that there’s no Riley either despite us only icing 19 players and 13 imports so he could have dressed even as a 13th forward. Another injury or just 13 forwards is imbalanced I wonder.
