Coventry 1-5 Guildford. Tough start for the blaze , they lost to Guildford last night as well 7-4. Shows how tough next weekend will be for us

They made that unnecessarily hard work with too many penalties but the much better team won. Credit to Storm they worked really hard and gave us a scare and Ginn as usual was outstanding but the shot from Reid was a beauty. I think he will be competing with Sandford for top scorer. Crandall deserves a mention. I thought he had great game.

Awesome stuff from Reid. That guy has really come out of the blocks raring to go eh?

Ah apologies, didn’t know it was Kozun. I didn’t get the stream as I’m working sadly. How were Manchester? What was the difference tonight?

Small ice, it worked against us big time our speed was stemmed with no room to use it, very scrappy game, entertainment went as soon as Mc Nally was thrown out. Zamboni broke down, ice was shite and dragged us down. Best to move on now.

We showed signs of the play from last night, but didn't really get into our rhythm. Not sure if that was the pad size or just tired but, the puck was bobbling a lot.

I’ve played up at Manchester before. The ice is horrendous and it sounds like that hasn’t changed.
Id be interested to see the check to the head from McNally…
safe travels lads!

Thinking about it - probably pad size, as soon as it was 3 on 3 it just took 15 seconds to score.

Not sure what happened with McNally to set him off. Thought he was going to do a Cantona as he was escorted off.

Any time you go to a rink like Manchester’s and come away with a win is a good thing. They used to say the same about the BBT including those years when we weren’t very good.

Good win. Before the game I did say McNally would have fun in that small rink and I was right…he didn’t even last one period before getting chucked out!! He’s definitely my favourite player this year that’s for sure.

Scores 18 goals + 4 in CHL and still so called Devils fans not happy, what have they got to do to please you ?
Always the same:

Win by loads = It's to easy
Lose by loads = The team isn't good enough
Win by fine margin = should have won by more
Lose by fine margin = should have won/blame a player

Also these same people never give the opposition any credit just for being better in their win, it's always the Devils at fault.

Never happy BUT that is a tiny minority to be honest which I'm fine with, let them moan.

Without looking back through the comments during the game were people that negative? The only negative topic I remember being discussed was McNally’s ill-discipline and when a player has just been thrown out of a match for a check to the head and arguing with the crowd then it’s bound to create discussion.
As far as the game I genuinely don’t remember much negativity. If anything several posters were sympathising with our players due to the state of the ice.
