Well I thought the Council were granted a £16 million European grant, but the site had to have water, snow, and ice, so now not delivering the snow dome surely contravenes that agreement.

‘A 10,000 sq ft extension to the ice arena featuring new leisure facilities, potentially costing £3million, would also be built’

Could be interesting....I wonder if that extension might allow for an increased spectator capacity?

An Olympic sized pool
An Olympic sized rink
Both without the necessary infrastructure to be Olympic standards - at an international sports village!

What hope for anything better

High rise flats, no ski slope (snow dome), shops and bars (that could be good for visiting fans though) and the fabled multi-storey car park ("if possible")
10 year plan - including the Viola - what could go wrong!

At least the White Water Centre is approved to international (London Olympics approved training center) standards

Cardiff Council at its best

Don't worry though there'll be a 15k seaer stadium in the Bay!

The one big word that comes to mind, parking! Hundreds of apartments means hundreds of more vehicles.
Multi story car parks, tend to be expensive and difficult to get out of at peak times e.g at the end of a hockey game. Time will tell.

Parking is a major issue - no plans except a multi story "if possible"

Developers for the site- apartments, shops, etc - opposite the Norwegian Church withdrew. Parking was restricted 1 parking space per flat allowed. May or mat not have had anything to with it but don't expect Cardiff Council to do anything " car sympathetic"

The plans basically build on all existing car parks with the hope that they eventually build a multi story. If they actually go ahead with this it could have a severe impact on Devils attendance, because you just won't be able to park.

You can guarantee the sequence in which things happen will be unbelievably wrong if the Council have anything to do with it. Priority should be a multi story car park.
