Now Dupont has been confirmed, here's some players he has played with that could be a good fit.

https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/18618/scott-timmins - NHL and AHL experience. Maybe not for the top line but a possible replacement for Lammon or Dixon if he retires. If he's gone to play in Australia I'm sure he'll have no problems coming to the UK.

https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/45609/reid-mcneill - Played with Dupont in both Austria and Denmark. Played with Brodie Reid too. Looks a solid stay at home D man.

https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/46949/darik-angeli - Scored some good numbers in the Coast with Dupont. Also a big body right winger, can also play center. Maybe with Dupes looking for to get 'heavier' he will fit the bill.

https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/12529/louie-caporusso - Scored a lot of points in Europe. Maybe a bit similar to Cox/Sanford but if there's a spot for a player like this I think he will score plenty here.

I think what we really need is a couple of face off specialists at centre. If dixon retires of really be concerned about our ability to win the draw. Retaining the puck around the boards is going to need big bodies too.

If you pay at the bar, check your statement and it says Greenbank Partnerships…don’t know what agreement they have with the devils over bar takings but the money doesn’t go to the devils in the first instance
It never has as far as I’m aware, I don’t know why fans keep mentioning bar sales, the Devils owners don’t own any part of the facility. The Devils simply play at the IAW only, they have zero business agreements beyond the Ice Agreement, Todd was put as interim facility manager because Greenbank was happy to let monkeys run it, which would’ve meant it being closed permanently. The IAW a few months ago, when the Council took over interim management, advertised for a Facility Manager as Todd was relieved as part of the Council takeover. Greenbank have heavily borrowed via business loans against the facility as it’s basically costing far more to run than it makes, so giving a % of takings to the Devils would be highly unlikely on a single evening the profits would be in the very low hundreds of £’s anyway.

The money devils Org. takes is through tickets, merch, programmes, SOHB, 50/50, Chuck a puck, raffles, auctions and all sponsorships.
So the Saturday night booze crowd hinder more than help and add nothing to profits through bar sales.
Saturday nights were meant to encourage families due to no school Sunday but why would families subject their children to abusive, annoying dickheads in blocks and in public areas.

As part of the corporate package the Devils likely pay Greenbank a % of Alcohol consumption and recoup it through the package cost, it’s never a free bar & if done correctly the Devils should be still gaining revenue. You’d always factor how much an individual would likely consume in an evening, although seeing some of those individuals the Devils may need to increase their estimation.

Not a rumour, but I guess I'm at that stage looking at players who could potentially come sign for us, due to links, friendships etc.

I noticed his ridiculous stats a few years ago, would be a top end signing for sure. He's on the older side now so the UK might be an option for him, but he played a full East Coast season this year so fitness not an issue. He played with Joey Martin in Norway and also Matt Register in Allen.

Seeing those numbers in the ECHL, it does make you wonder why he didn't get called up. What was it that held him back. But then he goes to the DEL and puts silly numbers up there too.
He is shown as Retired from playing and Head Coach of Allen Americans for next season.

Reid McNeill is a player I hoped we were looking at a few years ago but he was always likely to go to a better league. He finally ended up In the EBEL. Obviously we’ve been linked with Ben Blood again but McNeill would be a good replacement for Mikkelson.

Another player that played with Dupont and Reid in Austria is Joel Broda. Also played with Bownsy in Graz. He looks like a player that could realistically sign for a team in the EIHL and I think he would do well at this level. Dupont has already said that we’ll be heavier next year and although Broda isn’t huge he’s a strong two way forward that plays a physical game. It also says on EP that he has tons of character which is something you need in the EIHL with every game being important.

No sign of any new players from my makeshift ice cream van (spy van) outside the rink! Early days tho.

Overheard a chap dressed in full Team GB gear in the queue for boarding to Tampere say that Bowns has signed for a team in the EIHL, but not one that he’s played for previously. Also heard him say that 2 of the younger GB players were being scouted by top level US scouts (Waller possibly?). He did seem quite happy to be heard though so I’d take it with a small pinch of salt perhaps

Just want the signings to start being announced TBH. When do we think we will get the first announcement?

I'm going for next Friday, 3rd June. Doubt will be this week as we have the fixtures meeting this week. That would be 9 Fridays from the start of August which would be pre-season for matches to start 9/10/11 September.

Interesting. I don’t know about everybody else but I can only see Bownsy signing for us or Nottingham. I know he was a Steelers fan as a kid but I can see Sheffield going for another import goalie. Surely Belfast is highly unlikely and then would he sign for any of the other teams? Not for me.

That’s what I thought. Couldn’t see him going to Coventry or Glasgow. Personally I think the guy was full of it, but it’s a rumour so I posted it!
