Pubs near the Rink

Hi all,

Coming over to the rink on Saturday for Cardiff/Oxford and am looking for a pub to go to prior to the game that's reasonably close to the rink... Where's the best place to go?

depending on which way you enter the rink from before the butetown tunnels you can exit the A4042 which will take you to cardiff bay which is full of pubs and is apoprox 3 minutes from the rink.

hope you enjoy the game!!! :D

3 minutes by car... but isn't actually that bad a walk. Trouble is getting away from the rink after the game. Curse the rink being in the bay :D

Heh, we always do have a good time at Cardiff. Except we never ever win! Still the brains is always good at the bar in the rink.

It's kinda a wierd reason to ask this but do you know any pubs in the bay that don't have music on, as some of us that are heading down help run a rec club and we're overdue a committe meeting so before the city stars game in cardiff may be ideal!

We are Devils fans and we have a pub on the coast road between Cardiff and Newport. www.churchhouseinnstbrides.co.uk - 15-20 mins from rink

Reasonably priced £1.99 Brains Smooth, Fosters £2.25, Brains IPA £2.40

Quiet enough for meeting!

What rec team are you, my partner also plays rec hockey for Cardiff Eagles!

Oxford Shooting Stars, newly formed (April this year) for beginners is Oxfordshire. Thanks very much for the info!

The oyster catcher in Penarth Marina, the Toby pub (formerly the beefeater) at the big junction with Penarth Road or the Merrie Harrier (1/2 mile further on the Dinas Powys/Llandough road) are all within 5 mins drive from the rink!
