Paul Thompson new Devils coach

Looking at the 'Cardiff Devils 2024-25 fights' montage on Youtube by Hockey Fights UK, there's a few things that I've noticed.

1) Gourley - Was dropping them (gloves and players!) at the start of the season and the fight against Ehrhardt definitely changed him.
2) Few incidents i.e. Storm against Barrow (cross check on the floor etc) whereby we didn't back our players at all.
3) This years 'montage' is 15 minutes long whereas the 23/24 season was 32 minutes long.
4) How much we miss Brandt when he's not playing and how much I hope he re-signs.

I've never watched Thompson coach before so I'm really looking forward to this season, especially with the few signings that we have released.

Gourley was game until Earhart beat him up, he was never the same after that, Brandt hopefully is back, Helgesen looks pretty handy, Thommo in fairness won’t have a team of pussies, he knows Cardiff and what the fans want. More signings info now please guys.

I don't think it was the fight, I have a feeling it was Russell, if you watch the mini brawl with Guildford, don't watch the fight but Russell. He stop our players looking out for each other!

Certainly don't want to see last season's Fournier back.
Totally agree, let’s hope it had something to do more with the coach and not the player, myself I would have been happy to only see Ritchie return from last seasons defence, again that’s only my view, Gleason of old would be a tidy bonus.

Sadly i think Richie had his day, few too many times he got outpaced sadly

Coming back to an old thread and enjoying reading through it......

I have to admit to not being sure when the news broke, I suspect that was my heart speaking and memories of Thommo being the enemy but........ I was wrong, after the most enjoyable season in years I am happy to say that this was one of the best signings the owners have ever made.

Roll on next year
