Evidently some people have a very short memory. Thompson was everything that Devils fans detested when he was with the Steelers - Not impressed this news.
If he has a team more entertaining than the borefest of the last few seasons who cares. As long you get your moneys worth history will soon be forgotten. This is a similar signing to when we signed Finnerty and that went ok.

Thompson brought some horrible, nasty players to the league and didn’t care about his teams playing on the wrong side of the rules. Perfect.

On the fence about this one. Appears on surface to be a mutually beneficial opportunity for the two parties.....Thompson wants to return to coaching the the UK, and for the Club, it allows them to announce and appoint a coach at the beginning of the recruitment process.

If this is the level of their ambition though, it seems like a quick fix appointment. All happened very quickly. No lengthy search to find the right guy'. Were there even any other candidates considered?
No arguing his experience, achievements and passion....but some of his past comments and behaviour have been nothing short of cringeworthy. Those stick throwing melt downs will take some getting used to for the players. And anyone remember his derogatory comments about a female EIHL official once? He called her 'some random woman'.

Is he going to be here in 12 months time?
