as a lot were standing and being told to sit down last season we now have an extra row behind us for standing allowing extra seats to be sold, with a shelf to put your beer or food on

Where’s this located please, I think the club would inform us of any changes and not just put people behind us, are you talking of a specific place or all around the arena, Cant see the club putting a extra £100 on seats then dumping Adam and Eve behind us.

Has anybody who sits in back row had a call offering them a standing spot behind their current seats?
I have had an email. I’ve replied with a list of questions and will wait and see what the response is. It’s a bit disappointed that they left it so late to inform people what’s happening, especially considering the people have already renewed their season tickets.

Given the crack down by security in recent seasons on standing - last season (I think) I was walking to the toilets around the top of the rink whilst game in play. I stopped to watch a key moment, for about 3 seconds maybe, and had this lad with a table tennis bat telling me to move on....anyway

Given they have been strict with that, and with the narrowness of the walkways around certain blocks I'd guess this is limited to the corner by Block 13, and maybe that side of the arena - as you couldn't have shelving for standing spots by the DJ room etc due to the disabled spots and lack of room.

I wonder if those who purchase a 'standing seat' will be constantly asked to produce their ticket to security, and if (as I suspect) the price will be the same as a seated ticket. The standing section at the top of B10 is the same price as the seats around them.

I’m sure that if the club want to create extra revenue by selling a standing position they would first of all make sure they are not encroaching on fire safety regulations or other similar.
They wouldn’t have to send a survey/ask if everyone is ok with it.
It sounds like they are informing people that it would immediately affect but they probably don’t think they need to let every Tom, Dick and Harry that Adam and Eve are moving in and are getting a shelf.
I appreciate that you all pay A LOT of money for your season tickets but it doesn’t seem to me that you have a right to know the ins and outs of how the club does its business.

Extra standing or seats are surely beneficial to everyone if the club benefits from them???

Sorry for feeling the need to send this post but I’m pretty sure it’s one the owner would like to send having read what’s written above.

Over and out!!

So if you currently have a seat in the back row, you now have a row of people standing behind and above you with a shelf for their beers!!
What could possibly go wrong???

its very late in the day to ask someone, why on earth would you not do it at time of starting of selling season tickets. ? conspiracy theorists would say done deliberately, not all the facts are out there, like where it affects people and how many. so will hold back judgment . ????

Conspiracy theorists may also claim that with the Devils Summit only a few days away, it’s also a ‘Great week to bury bad news!’

Nothing really the backbenchers can come in their frogmen’s outfits, the 18in width shelves along with the 20in punter still leaves a good 3ft clearance for any emergency evacuation, and if you are a professional Limbo Dancer then the worlds your oyster.

I’ve been to MSG and they do something similar - seems to work tbh. Good way of getting extra revenue; personally I prefer to stand watching sports anyway so think it’s a good option.
